A lively kid and a tomb

Gaster took some months off work to spend time with Sans: nobody even knew that he was now a father, nobody, not even Asgore nor Toriel.

He always spent time feeding Sans milk, and the small skeleton would always reach for the milk bottle with strenght in his fingers. And after drinking milk, he would always nap for a while.

As for Gaster, well...how about we ask his dark circles about his conditions?

Nevertheless, even if Sans woke him up a lot of times in the night, he was happy. Really happy. Sans was a total distraction from everything, he was the fresh air he needed from the nightmares and the stress from work. It is sufficient to say that summoning a Gaster Blaster even as a baby and flying on it was enough for Gaster to distract himself from everything else.

Sometimes, he would sleep with Sans on the mattress: hugging him was comfortable, and hearing his son's regular breaths always put his mind at ease.

And Sans always hid in his father's chest with his little fingers when they were hugging: Gaster always felt those little fingertips on his ribs that sometimes it was even tickling him.

The little child was also starting to grow: he was now smiling, something that made Gaster almost cry of joy when he smiled to him for the first time, and he could now keep his eyesockets open and show those pin-pricks of his.

And so here we are: the two boys were sitting on the couch watching the tv. Sans always looked fascinated by science programs, which made Gaster a lot proud: the kid couldn't even understand a word of what they were saying but the images running through the television were enough to keep him awake.

And he was also using a dummy now, and Gaster would always hear him chewing on it.

Suddenly, he felt something touch his chin, almost like it wanted to grasp it. He looked down, and saw Sans chewing on his dummy and looking at him as well, stretching his little arms enveloped by the blue onesie. His mouth quickly shaped a smile when he noticed that he caught his father's attention. And in fact, the older skeleton was totally moved by the sight.

"Who's the cutest skeleton in the whole world? Of course it's you!" he said as he snuggled his son's nose.

The small baby giggled and stretched his arms to the older skeleton's face.

"Hey Sans, wanna hear a pun? Do you want to know why I don't trust stairs?" he then asked "because they're always up to something"

Sans obviously didn't understand what he just said, but he looked like he had just heard the most amazing thing in the world: his eyesockets had widened in fact due to his surprise, and he had stopped chewing for a second.

"Heh, liked that pun?" Gaster asked

He then looked at his watch: it was time.

"Well...guess it's time" he said, between his sighs "alright Sans, we have to go"

He then stood up and put Sans alone on the couch, looking at the watch to count the seconds with his chronometer. Sans looked around himself for a second, moving his head around, and right after that, he started tearing up only to finally cry, searching for his father.

"You really can't stay without me, do you?" Gaster said with a little laugh, stopping the chronometer: it counted 6 seconds.

Why did Gaster count the seconds? It was to see how many seconds Sans could stay without him. After all, for where they were going, he might have had to put his son down for just an instant, but still, he didn't want to make him cry.
