" NuNew let's talk. Alone " is the first thing his father says. He shakes his head no. " Anything you want to say you can say it in front of them ". His father seems angry. " Let's just talk alone ". He rolls his eyes. " No. I already told you I don't want to. The only reason I'm even talking to you right now is because I have people here to help me actually be able to talk with you " he says a little angry. " Fine. I'm sorry for getting upset earlier. I was just frustrated that you were throwing a fit. I just wanted to have you listen to the conversation ". He hears Nat laugh in disbelief. " With all due respect sir, he wasn't throwing a fit as you put it. He was upset and he had every right to act the way he did ". He's a little taken aback by Nat saying that to his father but he's glad he did. " Why did he have the right to act that way " his father says. Nat almost instantly answered as if he had predicted what he would say. " He's been through so much trauma that no one will understand. And then just recently he had all that trauma effect him a lot by seeing those monsters again and having his worse fear happen right in front of his eyes. And as if that wasn't enough he had to explain everything about his past all the way up until the beach not once but twice. During the second time he even had to watch videos and see pictures of himself in a horrible condition. That alone gives him every right to be upset " Nat says angrily. He squeezes Nat's hand trying to calm him down. " That still doesn't give him the right to shove me and his mother away again ". He pulls his hand away from Nat. " if you actually understood him you would see how much mental pain he's in and you would understand that he wasn't pushing you away! He needed a break from everything. Everyone's pushing him to talk about everything and they never give him a break! He's in a bad place and you treat him so bad " Nat says shouting a little bit. Max has to grab ahold of Nat to make sure he doesn't do anything. " You haven't known my son as long as I have! I know him more than you. You can't say that I don't understand him " His father says. Shouting he says " You can't say something like that! Sure I haven't known Nat for long, but he is the one who understands me the most! He's the only one I can look at and he will know what I'm thinking without me having to say anything! The more I think about it, the more I realize you don't know me at all! You never have ". His father looks at him in disbelief. " How can I not understand you. I'm your father NuNew! " his father says angrily. " You might be my father but that doesn't mean you know me or understand me! You're always at work all day long! Even when I was in the hospital there were times that you went to work instead of being with me! The third time I woke up from my coma you weren't there the entire day! You left mom alone to watch after me with no break. She had to see me not knowing if I will ever wake up normal. She had to go through that alone " he says angrily. Holding his hands in a tight fist. " You never wanted to talk with me! You pushed me away NuNew ". His anger is rising. He's never been this angry. " I pushed the both of you away because in my head that's the only fucking way I could protect you. I lived everyday in fear that Nate would kill you both! I never wanted to push you guys away! Why would I do that to the only people I thought cared for me? I would never do that " he shouts. It's silent for a while before his dad says " I never knew that. How could I know that when you never told me! You don't tell me anything about what's happened! I have to hear from your mother or listen to the doctors ". He laughs in disbelief. Quietly he says " You would know more about me if you were at the hospital with mom. You would understand why, what you said at the office hurts me so fucking much. You do not understand me. Out of everyone in here, you are the person who understands me the least ". His father was about to say something else but his mother stops him by saying. " Leave! Do you not see how much stress you are putting on your son! Do you not realize how much you have hurt him. How much you are still hurting him " she shouts. She shoves him out of the room with the help of Jimmy. " NuNew I'm sorry. I'm going to try and make him understand. I love you and will see you at the court in 2 weeks " she says quickly before leaving. He turns around and hits the nightstand hard shocking everyone. His hands start to bleed again. Zee quickly pulls him into a hug. " NuNew calm down please. I don't want you to hurt yourself more. Take deep breaths please ". He tries to get out of Zee's grasp.
" Let me go Hia " he says angrily. " Not until you calm down and I know you won't hurt yourself anymore. You're already in enough pain. I don't want you see you in more " Zee says. He slowly stops struggling. " Did you even realize what you did NuNew " James asked. He nods. " It hurts now. It hurts more now then it did before " he whispers. Zee, noticing that he's calmed down stops holding on to him tightly and has him sit down on the bed. Zee then kneels down in front of him. Gently grabbing his hands. " If you knew then why did you hurt yourself like that again " Zee asked gently. He bites his lip. It's quiet for a while. They give him time to gather his thoughts. Eventually in a whisper he says " I don't know. I was already in pain. I don't know why I did it ". James walks over to them with a first aid kit. " We should check your hands to see if they have gotten worse ". James says. He can only nod his head.
