Chapter 37

      " Me and Dr.Khai made a plan in case you ran out of the room like you did a lot in the past. I had my phone on a call with Dr.Khai while he had it on speaker so the others could hear " Dr.Bun said. He just turns to look at him. " Of course you make a plan like that Dr.Bun " he says quietly before turning to look at everyone else as they walk out of the room.
      " I'm embarrassed " he quietly whispered. Nat still hugs him tightly. " I don't blame you for anything that happened NuNew. You were just trying your best to get them to stop hurting me. You did nothing wrong. You could never do anything wrong to hurt me or anyone else NuNew. So please stop blaming yourself " Nat says. He hugs Nat back tightly.
     " I'll try to not blame myself anymore " he says. " The both of you are the best way to help each other with your ptsd. By the short amount of time I have seen you both together and from what I hear about the both of you last night. You guys care about each other more than anything else in this world. You understand each other far more than anyone else does. The best way to help calm each other down is by being together and talking about it " Dr.Khai says to the both of them. So they pull away from the hug.
      " You tell us this as if we don't already know that we help calm each other down. Nat can help me when my anxiety leaves me in able to properly communicate what I want. With a simple look Nat can figure out what I'm thinking or need. It's the same the other way. I can understand what he's thinking or what he needs with just looking at him " he says. Nat nods before saying " When the no one else notices is feeling down or upset, we always notice it for each other. When we ask we are willing to listen to each other's problems. If we say that we don't want to talk about it right now than we leave it at that. We eventually end up telling each other everything anyways ".
" NuNew. I want to take a walk with you around the hospital now. Without Nat or anyone. Just me, you and Dr.Bun as well " Dr.Khai says out of the blue. Making him panic. " I'm coming with as well " Zee says. However Dr.Khai shakes his head before saying " I'm afraid you can't. This is an important assessment of NuNew that I need to do. I'm thinking about putting NuNew on some medication to help him. However I need to see how he acts in these type of situations " Dr.Khai said before walking towards him. " You can only start to recover if you put yourself into uncomfortable situations NuNew " Dr.Khai said.
" Fine. But no tricks. Only walking around the hospital and then coming straight back here to everyone else " he says. Dr.Khai nods before pointing towards the direction for him to walk. So he takes a deep breath as he wraps his arms around himself before walking towards the direction Dr.Khai is going. " Start filming now Dr.Bun " Dr.Khai said. " Of course this is going to be recorded " he mumbles to himself.
As they walk farther and farther away from everyone else he can feel his anxiety rising. He feels like at any point he can be thrown into a major panic attack. " Do you know where we are in the hospital NuNew " Dr.Khai asked him. " How could I not. I remember every part of this stupid hospital " he says anxiously. " And why do you remember it so well. People who stay here a longer than you don't remember the hospital exactly the same " Dr.Khai said. " Because I was terrified being here. I still am. I'd look for any possible way that I could use to escape in case the worst thing happens and I need to run. I was in a horrible mental state. Constantly afraid someone's going to hurt me " he said while looking around the hospital hallway they were in. " What did you think would happen to you here. There's security here NuNew " Dr.Khai says.
" Nate and the others were not in jail. It was engraved into my brain that anyone who helped me will be killed or hurt by them. And I thought that they would come find me again once they new I was still alive. I was correct about them finding me again " he said.
" And what about now. Why are you scared to be here now. They are all in jail now. So they can't hurt you " Dr.Khai asked him. " Because everywhere I look I remember a horrible memory of being in that spot. Like here " he says as he points towards a hidden corner. " I hid here one of the very first days I was able to walk around the hospital. I thought I saw Nate and ran from Dr.Bun. I hid there for over an hour until someone finally found me. When they did I started screaming loudly because I thought that I was about to be killed by Nate " he says before they continue walking towards the one area he wants to avoid most.
So when they turn down the hallway he stops and stares down it. His hands start to shake as several memories fill his head. All of them being horrible ones. " NuNew " Dr.Khai asked. " Please. I d-don't want to go down here. I am on their verge of a panic attack and my last one was really bad. I can not handle another one like the last one " he says stuttering quietly as he closes his eyes.
When he feels someone touch his shoulder he flinches so hard that he falls to the ground. Hurting his wrist. When he looks up he sees Dr.Khai was the one who touched him. So he quickly gets back up. " Are you ok NuNew. Did you hurt your wrist " Dr.Khai asked him. " I'm fine. I think I just sprained my wrist " he says quietly. " Follow me. I'll bring you to a nurse that can check it out for you " Dr.Khai said. So he hesitantly follows him down the hallway.
When Dr.Khai stops In front of a room he freezes. " No " is all he says before Dr.Khai forces him into the room. Once inside Dr.Bun blocks the exit to the room. " Let me out! I said no tricks Dr.Khai " he shouts as he begins to panic. " I can't NuNew " Dr.Khai says before he quickly leaves the room with Dr.Bun before locking the door.
" Unlock the door now " he screams loudly as he tries to open the door. " I told you. I tried to warn you! They are going to kill us " he hears someone say so he quickly turns to his side. Seeing the bloody version of himself. " No they aren't. They won't do that! They ". The other version of himself interrupts him shouting " Why else would they lock you in the room NuNew! They are going to kill us! That's why they didn't let Hia or anyone else come with you ". He shakes his head before backing up.
" This isn't real. This isn't happening! Let me leave! I want Hia! This isn't real " he screams as he knocks over a hospital table that has medical supplies on it. " But this is real NuNew! We are trapped in the very hospital room that we stayed in! Do you see that bed " the other version of himself says. So he slowly looks towards the bed. Which suddenly has blood on it.
He screams as he falls to the ground. Crying, he hits his head repeatedly. " Make it stop! Make it stop! I don't want to die! I don't want this " he shouts loudly. " They are coming! Run NuNew! They are going to kill you " the other version of himself says. So when he sees the door being unlocked while Dr.Khai and Dr.Bun rush over to him he quickly stands up. Pushing past them and running. He listens to the voice. To scared that what it's saying is actually going to happen.
There's a loud voice shouting code purple as he's running. " Don't stop. They have called the staff to help catch us. Run " the voice says. So he speeds up. " NuNew! Wait " he hears someone shouting at him. Which only causes him to panic. So he quickly turns down a hallway.
He ends up running into a security guard who holds him still. Panicking he tries to get free. " Let me go! Don't kill me! Please! I didn't do anything wrong " he shouts as he tries to get free. He continues fighting until he feels a sharp pain in his arm. Not to long after he starts to feel weak and exhausted. The last thing he sees before darkness consumes him is Dr.Khai looking at him worriedly.
" You did what to my son! You knew damn well that it would cause a reaction like this yet you still locked him in that room " he hears someone shouting. He can also feel someone gently playing with his hair. So he slowly opens his eyes. " H-Hia " he says quietly as he realizes that it was him playing with his hair. " He's awake now " Zee said loudly making him confused.
Until he looks towards where the shouting was and becomes terrified as the memories come racing back to his head. He quickly moves back close to Zee. Who immediately pulls his shaking body in to a hug. " Y-you locked me in the room. You said you'd help me with my wrist but you tricked me! You locked me in that room! I told you at the end of that hallway I was on the verge of a panic attack! And you " he stops talking as he starts crying.
" Dr.Khai, expect my lawyer to talk to you. You knew exactly what you were doing by putting him in that room! And look what type of reaction he's had! You had to put my son to sleep because he was so terrified that you were going to kill him. He was terrified. I haven't seen him that scared since he was staying in this hospital " his father shouts. " Sir. I did what I thought was best at the time " Dr.Khai said. Zee makes him turn away. Pulling him into his chest as he starts to cry more.
" I-I want to go home. I'm scared " he stutters quietly. He is to terrified to be here. Knowing that Dr.Khai knows how to throw him into a severe panic attack terrifies him. He feels so helpless. Why would his therapist who is supposed to help him. Knowingly putting him through something like that. " Let's go son. You won't have to come back here again " His father says before turning to Zee. " Can you carry him to your car ". His father asked Zee. Who nods before standing up. He immediately grabs ahold of Zee's arm scared.
The entire time he gets on Zee's back he doesn't let go of Zee's arm. " W-where is mom, P'Max and Nat " he asked quietly. " They are taking to the director of the hospital " Zee says as he Carrie's him outside of the room and to the others. " I'm sorry son. If I knew he'd do this " his father says holding back his tears. So he reaches out to his fathers hand and grabs it. " You didn't know. Just like you tell me about the beach. There's no way we could have predicted this " he says quietly before letting go of his fathers hand.
He holds on to Zee, laying his head on his shoulder. " I don't want those men to treat anyone else if that's how they treat their
patients " he hears his mother say. So when they reach them he quietly says " Dr.Bun didn't do anything. He had to listen to Dr.Khai. Dr.Bun is a good doctor. He helped me the most out of all doctors. Don't take away his job mom ". His mother turned to look at him quickly.
" You're awake " his mother says before looking to Zee. " Thank you for carrying him Zee. I'm sure it's helpful for NuNew " his mother says. " No problem ma'am. I want to do this for
him " Zee said. " Let's go please. I don't want to be here any longer " he says. " Zee, Max and Nat please take him back to the house. We are going to stay here for now " His father says. " I called my father for you. He should be here soon " Max says. " Thank y- " his father stops talking when he hears the tv.
" Breaking news! NuNew who became famous recently over his trail was at the hospital today when he went into a severe panic attack. We got an anonymous email containing video of his assessment with a therapist. We are going to show you footage from his anxiety attack " the news reporter says.
He quickly gets off of Zee and slowly forces himself to walk towards the TV. The part of the video they play shows him scream before falling to the ground. It also shows the moment he runs out of the room before it ends.
" This is believed to have been a moment where NuNew is in the hospital room he stayed in after the first incident. We believe that he has a memory trigger him into a panic attack " the tv reporter says before the screen switches to a picture of him.
He falls to the ground. How were they able to get the video so fast. How long has he been out for. Why must this also be shown to the media. Why can't he ever have a private moment. What will people say about him now. What's going to happen when he goes back to school. He didn't want to have that anxiety attack. He warned them but they made him go down the hall and forced him into that damn room.
" NuNew " he hears Zee call him. Pulling him out of his thoughts. So he turns to look at him. " Let's get you home so you can rest ok. Your body is still tired from the medicine they gave you " Zee says as he helps him stand back up. Nat walks over to them and helps him get on to Zee's back before they quickly leave the hospital.
Zee rushes him towards the car, quickly putting him in. Then everyone else then gets into the car before they take off towards the house.
