Chapter 30

When they all reach the mall they decide to go inside of a small cafe to eat breakfast first before they walk around the mall. He orders a cold white chocolate flavored coffee drink. As well as a small breakfast sandwich. Everyone else gets a drink and something to eat as well. They all decide to sit at the large table in the corner near a TV.
When they sit down at the table their attention immediately goes to the TV. On the TV screen is a talk show talking about their case and what they think about it. " Those poor boys were all going through something so difficult. From the bullying NuNew went through, the beach and then from all the media attention they got during the trial. They're high schoolers who were essentially thrown into fame because of their court case. Overall it's just sad and heartbreaking to see them go through that " one of the female talk show host says. " Well if you really think about it. They're all handling it surprisingly well. However I just still thinks it's gross that 2 guys can love each other in a romantic type of way " the other female talk show host says. He rolls his eyes before taking a drink of his coffee. " Have you seen the scars on NuNews body though. Like even if you're homophobic or whatever. You shouldn't cause that much harm to someone else. It's horrible " the first talk show host says before a picture of his scars and burns from the trail is shown on the screen. The picture taking him by surprise as he takes another drink from his coffee. Making him cough. Zee gently rubs his back. " How can someone say such rude remarks about them yet do a talk show about them and their case " he hears a man say. " Right? It's horrible. Let alone they are just being openly homophobic. That's like the main part from the case. I really hope NuNew and his friends are doing ok. The amount of media doing reports like this one is horrible. It just sucks. You rarely see any talk shows talking about them good without pitying them like they do " another person says.
" I agree with you. They should really be talking about how strong they are. Especially NuNew. He had to be in the same room with the very people who tried to not only kill him but his friends. It's amazing how brave they are " the first person says. " I wish we could talk to him right now and ask how he's gotten the courage to speak out on stuff like that. Especially since he's brave enough to come out. I can't imagine ever coming out to my parents " the second person says. He smiles and holds back a laugh because they don't know that he's right behind them. He looks at everyone and can tell that they have all heard the two people talking. They all gesture for him to go talk to the two people. He smiles and nods before picking up his drink and walking over to the table. " Excuse me, can I sit here with you guys " he says. When the two guys look up to him he sees their eyes widen. He smiles at them. One of the guys quickly pulls out the chair for him while stuttering and saying " O-of course you can NuNew ". He smiles before saying thank you and sitting down next to them. " I really appreciate you guys saying that I'm brave " he says before taking a drink of his coffee. He can see how tense they both are so he says " Don't be nervous. I was just sitting over there and overheard your conversation and that you guys want to ask me questions concerning everything " he says. He sees them both smile and relax a bit more. " I'm really glad to meet you NuNew. We both are. My names Yin and this is War " the taller of the two says. He smiles at the both of them. It's very nice to meet you guys " he says. The shorter of the two who is named War says " Right now. I really want to ask you how you got the courage to talk about the things you talk about openly. It really shocks me to know someone is brave enough to do that. Especially when there's still a decent amount of homophobic people here in Thailand ". He smiles before saying " I'm going to be honest. It can be very terrifying to speak openly about the lgbtq and the victims of bullying and hate crimes. As you both know, there's a lot of hate that comes with speaking out. However when I think about all the people who support me and how there's a chance for me to help someone feel better about what they are going through I know that it's worth speaking out for them. I do it for those who can't and for those who are to scared to do it " he says. He watches as War rights down what he said in a journal. " Sorry. He's really into taking notes about things like this. Especially since you are here to answer questions " Yin says. He shakes his head and laughs. " Don't worry. I think it's cool how he's taking notes " he says. Shortly after War eagerly asked " So you want to do it to help others, but how are you able to get the courage to even start speaking out ". He smiles before saying " It took a little while. For a long time I had actually thought about speaking out. But I was terrified to do it. However when I started to read a letter someone had sent me saying how much I have helped them come out and get better it really inspired me. I thought that if I was able to help others like I have helped him then it's worth it and I slowly got the courage. From there all my friends and family encouraged me and helped me be brave ". He watches as War once again writes down in his journals. " How did you get the courage to talk about your sexuality to your parents. Was it scary to come out " Yin asked. He smiles. " I haven't really ever talked about his to anyone. Right after I woke up from the first incident my parents and doctors bombarded me with questions. I started to cry and tell them how I was attacked by kids for being gay and how I was constantly bullied. It was really scary but it went well ". He takes another drink from his coffee. " Thank you for answering our questions NuNew " War says happily. He smiles and nods his head. " I really appreciated you guys for saying I'm brave. So thank you guys " he says. Both Yin and War nod before War says " We'll let you get back to your boyfriend and friends now. They have been starring at us for the whole time you've been over here talking with us ". He laughs before whispering. " Just between me and you guys. They're all very possessive friends. That's why they are all constantly watching us. They're probably wondering why I'm whispering right now ". They all start to laugh before Zee walks over to them. " See how possessive " he whispers before saying goodbye to them and pulling Zee away from them and back to their table. " What did you whisper to them NuNew? Why did you even have to whisper to them. We're you hiding something from us that you told them and not us " Net asked right as he sat back down at their table. He laughs and shakes his head. " Oh nothing really. But you're just proving what he said about you guys " he hears War say. Causing him and Yin to start laughing. " I'll tell you guys since I can understand your boyfriend and friends NuNew. He started to whisper how you are all possessive of him ". His eyes widen as he shouts P'Yin! Why did you tell them ". Ear hits Yin on the shoulder hard. " P'Yin! " War says before turning to look at him. " Sorry NuNew. I'll be taking him from here " War says before pulling him out of the cafe. He turns to look at everyone and starts to laugh awkwardly as they all look at him. " We told you to go over there and answer their questions. Not tell them we are possessive over you ". He starts to laugh for real this time. " I wouldn't even have to really explain and tell them that if you all weren't staring at them like you were " he says before Zee wraps his arms around him. Nat immediately starts to playfully hit him. " I'm sorry. Ok I'm sorry " he says laughing. Which causes everyone else to laugh as well. " We should start to look around the mall before we have to head home " Jimmy says. So they all throw away their drinks before they start walking around the mall.
The first store they go inside of is a crystal shop. One that's similar to the one that they went to at the beach. He really wanted to go inside so he can get a specific crystal that he thinks will help Nat. Since this morning he has noticed that Nat seems a little anxious. He knows that it's probably because he's had another nightmare from the beach incident.
He walks over to the front desk and says " Hello, I was wondering if you guys had any Celestite crystals. Preferably in a bracelet ". The worker smiles and says " Follow me ". So he smiles and nods before following the worker. The worker leads him all the way towards the back. " This is where we keep the Celestite crystals " the worker says pointing towards the large table full of crystals. He smiles and says " Thank you " to the worker before he looks around at all the different Celestite crystals. As he's looking around he feels someone stand right next to him. When he turns to look he notices that it's Jimmy. " Why did you want to look for this specific crystal NuNew ". He smiles before turning to look back at the crystals.
" I'm not sure if I'm the only one who noticed it or not, but Nat seems anxious since this morning. I'm thinking that he had another nightmare " he says. It becomes quiet for a little while before Jimmy says " I haven't really noticed it but now that you pointed it out. I can tell that he seems anxious as well. However, what does this crystal have to do with it ". He turns to Jimmy and smiles. " This crystal is called Celestite. As I have said before back at the beach, every crystal has something that they can help you with. Celestite is a crystal that promotes mental clarity and emotional stability. Which makes it the perfect stone to help someone with there anxiety and depression ". Jimmy interrupts him and says " So you're getting this crystal for him to help his anxiety because it will help him feel better ". He nods before turning back to the crystals to continue to look for the perfect one. He turns to look over to Nat real quick. He sees him looking through different types of crystals. He turns back around before spotting a necklace that has a piece of raw Celestite in what looks like a wire cage. So he grabs it and shows it to Jimmy. " This is the perfect Celestite crystal for Nat. I've already gave him a crystal bracelet. So why not give him a necklace that has a crystal on it as well " he says as he shows the crystal necklace with a smile. " That's perfect. He will really like it NuNew ". He smiles before walking over to the front desk. He hands the worker the necklace before pulling out his wallet and paying for it. Once he has payed for the necklace he waits towards the door while the others buy the crystals that they want. After everyone is finished they all exit the store. Before they head into the next store he says " Guys I'm going to talk with Nat real quick. You can go into the next store while we talk ". They all nod their heads before walking into the store. He pulls Nat towards a bench near the store. As they sit down Nat look at him confused. He smiles before saying. " You've had another nightmare right ".
Nat looks at him in shock before turning to look at the people passing by. So he does the same. They fall into a peaceful silence for a while. He gives Nat time to think over his thoughts. He knows that Nat will tell him.
" Last night. I had one of the worst nightmares that I've ever had. I ended up waking P'Max up from my nightmare. He had to shake me really hard in order to get me to wake up. I really scared him. In case you can't tell he's been next to me the entire day so far ". He can tell that Nat's becoming more and more anxious as he talks so he grabs onto Nat's hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. Trying to comfort him. " Why didn't you tell any of us Nat ". He looks towards Nat. Now he can see the pain and frustration in his eyes when Nat looks at him before turning away again. Nat just stares at the floor. " I didn't want to worry you guys. I didn't want to worry you NuNew " Nat says the last part a little louder.
" Your nightmare included me didn't it Nat " he asked concerned. When he's met with silence from Nat he looks away from Nat before asking " Can you tell me what exactly happened in your nightmare Nat ". He's met with another long silence before Nat quietly says " It's so hard to talk about what happened in the nightmare. It was so vivid and felt so real ". He interrupts Nat and says " Do you want to wait until later tonight. For the last night you can sleep on my room with me and Hia Zee can sleep in the same room as P'Max ". He watches and waits patiently for Nat to answer him. He can see that he's in deep thought.
