I didn't know what to think after we lost her. I just cried and cried thinking about how selfish and stupid I was. We looked for a little while longer before calling all the guys except Darin never picked up the phone.
We lost that little girl. I lost her.
"I'm such a shitty person." I mumble.
Bennett turns to me and gives me a look. "All the guys are looking. We're going to find her so stop downing yourself. This is ridiculous." He exclaims and I nod before continuing to search for her.
Where would she go? Why wouldn't she have screamed for me?
"Gabrielle Wilard you come out now sweetie!" I call, but no reply comes and I feel my hope fading.
We'll never find her.
******
"Hayden we have to go home now." Bennett murmurs, putting his arms around me and trying to pull me towards the car.
"I have to find her. She must be so scared." I insist as I shake my head.
"Hayden we've been here for hours. Come on. We have to go home." He murmurs and gives me a harder pull to which I swat him away and try to run.
"Hayden stop." He growls before swooping me in his arms and taking me to the car while I struggle to get out of his hold.
No I have to find her. Stop it Bennett.
"Bennett please let me go." I cry, but he deposits me in the car and Tyler holds me there while Bennett climbs in the driver's seat and we drive home.
"How can you just give up on her? How can you be so heartless?" I insist as he glares at me in the mirror.
"We put out an Amber Alert and informed the police. We looked for 7 hours Hayden. We can't stay out all night. You're going home and getting rest." He states calmly and I struggle in Tyler's arms.
"She needs me." I cry and Tyler shakes his head as he looks in my eyes.
"We will find her, but you need to go home a rest. It's been a long day and you and Bennett got barely any sleep. You're no use to anyone." He murmurs and my face contorts as I cry for the 6th time today.
"Shh shh shh." Tyler whispers as he rubs my back and I bury my face in his shoulder while we pull in the driveway.
"Come on Hayden. Let's go to bed." Bennett mumbles and picks me up out of the car to carry me upstairs.
I'm deposited on my bed and he takes my shoes off. After he leaves to get dressed for bed I strip down to my bra and panties before climbing under the covers and leaving space for him.
He crawls in behind me and his arms encircle my body under the blanket.
"Why aren't you wearing proper clothes? Your brothers will kill me." He murmurs with his face buried in my hair.
Because it's my room.
"I don't care. Let me sleep." I grumble as I drift off into upsetting, horrible nightmares.
*******
"Hay! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" A small, squeaky voice squeals.
"Mmm. No." I grumble, turning over and burying my face in my pillow.
"Hay Den! Wake up now!" It cries again and I open my eyes glaring at the little bug.
"What the hell do y-? Gabby!" I scream and I pull her to me. "Where did you go? Oh my god are you ok? Oh I love you so so so much." I murmur and she giggles at me as I hold her tight.
