Chapter Twenty- Drunk Sex

"Bennett wait!" I yell after him pushing through a lot of people to get to him.

The party is in full swing & Bennett is on the rampage. He's gotten himself shit faced. I can't even count the number of people he's yelled at already & he's probably made out with about 20 girls so far.

He turns to look & me, swaying from side to side. He breaks into a wide grin. "Hayden! My friend! Come on over!" He says & grabs my arm pulling me to him.

I collide hard with him chest & he squeezes me tight. "It's kinda loud inside! Do you want to go out back & talk?" I suggest.

He grins & nods. Then he starts pushing him way forcefully through the crowd.

Oh god. Here we go.

"Hey watch it!"

"Jerk!"

"Bennett you should be more careful. You're pushing people." I say.

He shrugs. "It's my birthday. They're the ones who are in the way. Besides were almost to the door." He says & we step out onto the grass.

He pulls me to the back corner of the yard & we plop down onto the grass.

I look in his eyes. He's totally hammered & I'm really worried he might burst into drunk tears about Grace or something.

"Bennett why did you break up with Grace?" I ask.

He sighs & rolls his eyes. "She's a bitch! Everyone knows it! Besides I like someone else. She's amazing & smart & so funny. Oh and so beautiful. Not with help just as herself. No makeup needed. She's just incredible. I've never felt this way about someone before. Not Grace or anyone." He says with a sigh.

Oh god. Is he talking about me?

"Why don't you tell her?" I ask, tentatively.

He sighs & looks me dead in the eye.

"I told her how I felt. She doesn't care. She has too many problems. So many other guys waiting for her. Guys a million times better than me. I'm nothing to her. I'll never be good enough. Besides I doubt she feels that way about me." He says & sighs at the end.

He slaps his leg & bursts out again. "Plus she's Caden's sister! He hates me! I don't stand a chance with her. Even if she liked me back he would never let us be together! It's a lost cause, but I will keep trying. I'll keep messing with her & being a pervert & annoying her, just so I can be near her. She's so incredible. Like really amazing." He then turns to me & continues on.

"It's crazy how in life we meet only a handful of outstanding people. People who are so genuine and true that it almost brings tears to your eyes. That's Hayden. She never tries to be something she's not. She acts like she doesn't know how good she is or she is so thick headed that she honestly doesn't. Either way she has made an impact on me. She cares." He says intensely, even in his drunken state.

Oh my god. He does like me.

"Oh I wish she was here. I want to tell her this. She needs to know." He starts & moves to get up.

I stop him by putting an arm on his. "Bennett, it's me, Hayden. You just told me everything." I say happily.

His eyes widen immediately & he inspects me as if he thinks I'm not telling the truth.

"It is you!" He shouts & tackles me in a hug. I yelp when we topple over with him on top of me in the grass. He pins me down & I'm giggling all the while. It quickly fades when I see the way he is looking at me.
