The teacher turns and scowls at Bennett before sending me a warm smile. Bennett pulls me over to Mr. Henry's desk.
Mr. Henry is an older man. His hair light gray, almost white. Glasses mask his dark brown eyes. He's wearing a dark blue sweater set. He looks nice, but something tells me he isn't.
Mr. Henry smiles at me. "You must be Hayden Andrews our new student. I'm Mr. Henry. Welcome to John Marshall Metro." He says & holds out a hand. I shake it and smile at him.
"It's good to be here." I say & he releases my hand. He turns to Bennett.
"And your reason for being late is what Mr. Greenwood?" He questions with a slight scowl.
Bennett smirks & gestures to me. "I was helping my roomie find her way around since we have 1st period together." He says & leans forward. "It was a favor to her brother." He whispers with a devilish look in his eye.
Mr. Henry almost smiles at him. "Well what a gentleman you are. Now take your seat please." He says.
Bennett winks at me & goes to sit. I smile slightly and turn back to Mr. Henry. He smiles back.
"Well I have one seat available so you'll be sitting with Mr. Howard." He says & reaches into a cabinet behind his desk. He hands me a textbook. He smiles and gestures toward the back of the room to the only empty seat. Beside it is a hot, nice looking guy whose smiling at me. I thank Mr. Henry & go to my seat.
The guy turns to me after I set my stuff down & he holds out a hand. I take it and shake.
"Carter." He says & flashes me a smile.
"Hayden." I reply & smile back.
He releases my hand & looks up to Mr. Henry whose saying something about photosynthesis. Mr. Henry doesn't seem to care about us at the moment. He looks back at me & leans in his chair, placing his hands behind his head.
"So," he draws out. "You & Greenwood, huh?" He questions.
I frown & shake my head. "Absolutely not. I came out here to live with my brother. Bennett's just one of my roommates." I say.
He smirks & shakes his head. "You didn't see the look he gave me when Henry said you wear sitting with me, did you?" He asks.
I shake my head and look around the room to find Bennett. Almost instantly I see him. He's glaring at Carter his eyes holding uncontrollable anger, but for what? Sitting with me? It's not like he had a choice.
"Well let's just say, I don't think he thinks you're just roommates." He says & he starts to draw on his notebook.
I shake my head & look back up to find Bennett has stopped glaring & he's deep in conversation with the girl seated next to him.
I immediately wonder who she is before shaking the thought away. It's none of my business anyway.

Second period was alright. At least I wasn't glared at, but now Bennett is walking with me to class & everyone keeps looking at us. It's making me uncomfortable. I sigh & turn to Bennett.
"Why are people staring at us?" I ask quietly.
He shrugs & looks around. "Stop looking at us & go get a life!" He calls.
Everyone's heads snap away & I relax.
Better.
He smirks at me. "You happy now, Sweet Cheeks?" He asks.
