This is it. Today is my last day with someone from home. Kenny leaves tonight. I've finally placed him into a category & he leaves me.
Well to be fair I left him first. Still it's gonna suck to say goodbye to him again. I miss everyone & having him here was like having a small part of Lancaster with me. Now it's going home & I'm staying here with these five, crazy college boys.
Great. This is just great.
I grab my purse & phone before running out the door. Kenny wants to met at The Bean. He had to return his rental car & the guys are gonna drive him to the airport.
The thing is, I don't know how to get to The Bean so I may have to get a ride from somebody. Well yes I do, but Tyler, Mark, Jackson, & Zack went to the store & Caden's in class so my last resort is, you guessed it, Bennett.
Gosh this is gonna suck.
Bang bang bang.
"Bennett! Open the door! We have to go?" I shout.
I hear scuffling in the room. "Hold on!" He yells back.
"Ugh." I say & walk away.
A few moments later Bennett comes out of the room. He looks at me and stares for a moment before shaking his head & walking downstairs.
I let out a sigh & follow him. He walks into the kitchen & grabs two bottles of water before walking back through the hallway & getting into his car.
I stand there in shock for a few seconds before he blasts the car horn & I run out the door & jump in the passenger seat. He speeds out of the driveway & toward the center of the city.
"What are you doing?" I hiss as he reaches 50 mph.
"Getting you there fast so you don't miss a second with your friend." He mutters.
"Why are you angry?" I ask quietly.
His head snaps to my direction & then back to the road. "I'm not. I just don't like going to town that's all." He says.
"Is it about your brother? Did it happen in the city?" I ask softly & rest a hand on his arm.
He shrugs my hand away. "Yes it's about him. Just leave me alone. " He says.
I nod. "Alright Bennett. I'll stop talking about it. I'm sorry." I say & turn to look out the window.
He sighs & turns on the radio. Don't by Ed Sheeran comes on & I mutter the words under my breath quietly. Bennett turns up the radio a little more & I increase my volume a little.
He makes a turn & I can see The Bean from the car. I smile widely when I see Kenny sitting on a bench close by. Bennett stops & pulls to the side of the road. I smile over at him & he gives me a small smile back.
I go to open the door, but he rests his hand on my arm.
"When do you want me to pick you guys up?" He asks quietly.
I look back at him. "His flight is at 8:45 so can you get us at around 6:30, that way he can say goodbye to everybody." I say.
He nods. "Call me and tell me where you're at around 6:15 & I'll pick you guys up." He says & releases my arm. I smile at him and jump out of the car.
He beeps & speeds away out of the city.
He must really not like coming here.
I spot Kenny again & walk over to him. He sees me too & gets up. I run to him & hug him. He squeezes me back, hard.
