My mind raced as I tried to remember why I didn't love Darin & I didn't stay with him.

He hurt you Hayden.

Well I obviously know that, but he seems so genuinely sorry.

"Hayden please come home with me. I want to try again. Just give me a chance." He begs and I see so much pain in those beautiful blue eyes that my heart clenches.

I look up to Bennett and his face is stone, eyes cold as ice, jaw clenched tighter than I've ever seen.

"Bennett?" I murmur and he ignores me so I look back at Darin.

"Darin, I don't love you that way. I'm in love with Bennett. You aren't the guy I want to be win anymore. You're a great guy & I love being in your life. You're my best friend so why can't you just accept that I love Bennett and let me be happy?, I ask him and I feel my eyes begin to water which I curse and wipe them away.

The boy in front of me breaks and a little piece of me breaks too because I never wanted to see him in this kind of pain ever again.

"But Hayden I love you." He chokes, blue eyes filled to the brim with tears that he dare not let fall.

"And it's because you love me that you need to let me be happy. We had our shot. It didn't work Darin. We are amazing friends, but shitty lovers. I want to be your best friend again. Will you let me?" I ask him and he looks away, hands running through his hair over and over again, messing it up completely.

"I can't let you go. I never should have. I should've fought for you. I should've fought harder. I didn't get you in time & someone else stole your heart. He stole your beautiful, beautiful heart and I was too much of an idiot to come here sooner and fight. I needed you and I should've tried to keep you. I'm fighting now Hayden. Can't you try to date me again?" Darin begs and I feel Bennett's hold on me loosen, but I don't acknowledge it.

"Darin I'm so...." I start, but Bennett's fist nails Darin in the jaw and he stumbles back.

"What the hell?!" I scream, grabbing Bennett and pulling him away from Darin's unconscious body lying on the cool kitchen floor.

"He was asking for it. Fucking prick." Bennett spits and I feel my eyes widen at this.

"You can't just punch people when you feel like it Bennett." I snap and he scoffs at this.

"You beat the fuck outta him not 20 minutes ago. You're a fucking hypocrite. I'm out of here." He huffs and he stalks out of the kitchen.

Moments later the door slams and I jump at the sound.

Why did I do that? It wasn't his fault.

"Dammit." I hiss before stomping my foot and running upstairs to find someone, anyone.

I run to Tyler's door and swing the door open quickly.

"Ty-?" I start, but slam the door tightly when I find he has a girl in there.
