I wake up & hear the beeping of the heart monitor. A throbbing pain in my head hits me like a ton of bricks. I groan in pain & I hear someone jump from a chair.
"Hayden are you ok?" Caden asks.
I open my eyes & the light hurts so I close them quickly. "Yeah I'm ok. My head hurts really bad though. Can you turn the lights down? I want to open my eyes, but it hurts." I ask.
He chuckles & I hear a click. Slowly I open my eyes & it try to focus on him in the dark. I take in his appearance & I feel so guilty.
In just one day I've caused fights with him & Bennett, Tyler got beat up, & I hit my head and had symptoms for hours, but didn't tell anyone until I passed out.
Wow I'm so fucking smart I should win a prize!
He looks exhausted. His eyes have huge bags under them & he has stubble all over his chin. He's still in the clothes he had on this morning & he looked like he'd been crying a bit.
"What happened?" I ask.
He sighs & sits beside me in a chair. "You hit your head at the house & then at the zoo you passed out & smashed it off the concrete. You've got a pretty bad concussion there Haydi-Bear. What happened? How'd you hit your head the first time?" He asks with a small laugh. I take his hand in mine & smile at him.
"When I left Bennett's room I ran into somebody, fell down, & smacked my head off the wall. Whoever it was, picked me up & set me on my bed. I felt dizzy all day, but the guys were so excited that I ignored it. I didn't want to ruin the day." I sigh, hanging my head.
"At the zoo I got really dizzying so I sat down & the boys sat with me. Then Zack started tickling me & I jumped up to get away & my head started to hurt really bad. I stumbled a little & then fell & smacked my head. That really hurt." I say with a frown. "I'm sorry. I should've said something to you guys. I just didn't want to ruin our plans." I say.
He shakes his head. "Hayden you need to tell me when stuff like this happens. Do you remember who you ran into? He should've seen if you were ok." He says angrily.
"Stop please. My vision was blurry & my ears were ringing. I wouldn't even know who it was if the told me." I say.
He stands up as the door swings over. I glance over & see Zack & Mark run to me & hug me, being careful to avoid my head. I let out a laugh. "Ok guys. I'm fine." I say.
They pull back & Mark just smiles. "I'm glad. You scared me kid." He says & sits in a chair.
I frown at him. "Kid?" I question with a raised eyebrow.
He laughs again, but more like he means it. "Yes." He says & holds up 3 fingers. "Three years little girl." He says & starts howling with laughter when he sees my scowl.
Zack pokes my arm & I spin to look at him which I instantly regret. "Owww." I say & grab my head. The guys all jump toward me & fire questions.
"Are you ok?"
"Do you need something?"
"What happened?"
"Nurse!!"
The room goes silent & a woman steps in. I feel instant relief as the pain killers kick in.
Ahhhh.
I snuggle back into the bed & drift off into sleep, but not before utter these final words.
"I love you guys."

I wake up a few hours later & find Mark asleep on the couch. Caden is gone. Tyler has arrived & Zack is also asleep on a chair.
