I sit on the couch surrounded by the guys. I can't concentrate on the conversation. They are talking about football or something, but I just think it's extremely boring. I feel a tap on my shoulder & look up to see Mark smiling down at me. "Hayden? Are you bored?" He whispers.
I nod & smile at him sheepishly.
He chuckles & clears his throat. "Guys I think maybe we should talk about something that Hayden cares about. I mean come on. It's her first day & you two haven't said a word to her." He says & points at Jackson & Zack.
They both shrug. "Sorry, but you picked her up & ran off before we could say hi." Says Jackson.
Mark smirks at him. "You could say hello now you dick. Stop trying to be a smart ass." He says.
Jackson flushes pink. "Hi Hayden. I'm Jackson. It's great to finally meet you. Caden never shuts up about you, ya know." He says & grins at Caden who sends him a glare.
I smile widely & turn to Caden. "Oh really now? & I thought you hated me." I say with a hint of sarcasm.
Caden smiles at me. "I do." He says.
I frown & give him a pouty face. "No you don't! You love me!" I say & tackle him with a hug.
He chuckles & pushes me off him. "Yeah I do so go sit over there you weirdo." He says & points to the couch where Tyler, Zack, & Bennett were sitting, in that order from closest to me to farthest from me.
I shake my head. "Nope I wanna stay here with you, Cadi-poo." I say & smile at him.
He shakes his head. "Well guys I'm gonna go meet up with Caitlynn. I'll text you later." He says & gets up.
I grab his arm & raise an eyebrow. "Caitlynn??" I question.
He blushes. "She's just a girl I've been, "meeting up with."" He says & puts up air quotes.
It takes me a moment to realize what he means.
I shake my head in disgust. "Eww gross!! Get out of here!" I say & push him out the door. "& remember to use protection!" I shout & slam the door behind him.
I come back to the living room & all the guys are laughing.
"What's so funny?" I ask.
Mark contains his laughter long enough to tell me. "No one ever gets away with doing that to him & you just treated him like a little kid." He says & laughs again.
"He just listens to me because I'm his little sister." I say with a shrug.
He holds up 3 fingers. "Only by 3 years little girl." He says with a smile.
I sit back down beside him & clap my hands together. "So what are we gonna talk about?" I ask with a smile.
I look at the guys & they all shrug.
They aren't much talkers are they?
Marks speaks up first. "Well I kinda want to know what drove you to moving all the way out here?" He says nervously.
No no no!! I can't tell him now in front of all the guys!! Oh no not Bennett!
I shake my head & send him a smile. "I'll tell you some other time. I just don't want certain people to know." I say.
Marks frowns, but nods. "I get it." He says.
Jackson speaks up for the first time all night. "Hayden are you going to go to school here?" He asks his eyes kind and I smile at him.
