Wow.
As I stare in wonder at the beautiful photo taken from Navy Pier I fire questions at myself. It's truly amazing.
Whoever said being a photographer was one of the easiest jobs in the world was a liar. This is art. I mean who do you know that could capture such beauty forever in time with elegance & poise? It takes a good eye to see true beauty in the most common of things. I can't even begin to understand how someone could call this easy. Anyone too blind to see the magnificence in the photos is, in my mind, uncultered & foolish.
To those people who glance and say, "Nice picture." You do not see the true beauty behind it. You merely comment on it vaguely & move on through the museum. To truly understand you have to take in all the small details that come together to make the picture the beautiful work of art that it is. How could anyone say it's easy to point a camera, snap a picture, & call it art? How dare you say it doesn't take a great amount of skill to capture every detail in the perfect way to make it so beautiful?
You see this is why I can't come to museums all the time. The thought of the utter ignorance people have for beautiful things like this infuriates me. Do you have no care in the world? This is beautiful & you will treat it as such!
I'm immediately ripped from my thoughts as Caden speaks.
"This is amazing. I can see why you like it so much. I mean the way the last light of the day is captured... And then add all the people playing games below & the lights from all the games. It's beautiful. Should we get a small postcard sized copy?" He asks in wonder.
I grin widely & nod. "Yes, but I'd prefer the original. Though a small one would be nice too." I comment playfully.
He rolls his eyes. "Well the original is about 10 times more expensive. Sorry little sister, but I'm not made of money & neither are you. Hey don't you still have to repay Bennett for Mark's birthday present?" He asks.
I sigh & nod. To be honest I had forgotten about that. Then a thought occurs to me. "Isn't Bennett's birthday soon?" I ask curiously.
He nods slowly. "Yes it's on the 12th. Why?" He asks.
I shake my head. "No reason. I just need to pay him back & then I need Carter's help picking out his birthday present." I say more to myself than to him.
He spins to me in a flash. "Who's Carter? Oh do not even tell me he's your new boyfriend." He demands.
I shake my head, laughing. "He's Bennett's best friend. Or did you think Bennett doesn't have friends?" I ask with a laugh.
He sighs in relief & rolls his eyes. "I know he has friends. I didn't know about Carter though. I've only ever met Mason & Patrick." He states.
I roll my eyes. "You haven't met Carter or Lyle? Ever?" I ask.
He shakes his head. "Nope. Never even heard of em." He says.
I burst into laughter. "He introduced me the second day of school & you have never met them when he's been living with you how long?" I ask.
He scowls. "Almost 2 years." He grumbles.
This only causes me to laugh harder. He looks so mad. "Oh my god. I think he doesn't like you." I say between breaths.
He sighs. "The feelings mutual. Trust me." He mutters.
I sigh and pat him on the back. "Come on. Let's get out picture then we can go home. We've been here for hours." I say.
He nods & smiles. "I had a lot of fun with you today. I missed you." He replies.
