"Ugh. I have nothing to wear." I whine into the phone.

I'd thought about it and called Adrian. She could totally help with this.

She laughs on the other end and I scowl. "Hayden you do too. Now go and get your cream colored dress. The simple yet elegant one. Put on your black pumps and throw on your black leather jacket. It'll look perfect! Mason and his family will fall in love!" She squeals.

She's totally turned on me. As soon as I called and told her everything that's been going on she became Team Mason.

I'd asked her about the abortion and she said it'd went ok. I decided not to press her.

Then for some odd reason I found myself asking about the one person I probably shouldn't have.

I thank her and grab the dress.

"So how is Darin?" I ask, trying to be nonchalant.

She sighs. "Not so good. After you left it's like he became a totally different guy. He never sees us anymore or his friends for that matter. He's always hanging out with Kilee or some other slut. The times I do see him it's by accident if I'm out with Garrett or something & Darin is almost always high. I just don't know what to do about him. I'm really worried that if I don't get a handle on him he's never coming back." She says with a sigh.

I nod.

Oh Darin what are you doing to yourself?

"I hope he gets his head straight." I say as I pull on the dress.

Next I set about curling my hair. I put the phone on speaker because I'd really missed her.

"Me too. So how are things apart from what you told me about Mason and that Bennett douche?" She asks.

Oh she loves to gossip.

I sigh. "Pretty good actually. I mean Mason is great. We had a party last night and schools ok. It's not ideal with Bennett being there and bothering me all the time, but Mason and his friends keep me company so I guess I'll survive." I say and sigh before adding.

"I just wish Bennett would get the hint that I don't like him. He's always rude and obnoxious. It bothers me. More than he understands. I hate it. He can be such an ass." I say.

"I totally get it. Garret's friend Neil always compliments me and says suggestive things & it makes me so mad. Why can't guys respect each other? It's bull shit. Sure Neil's cute, but that doesn't matter because I'm with Garrett. I like Garrett a lot and even though we've been through a lot of shit together we've made it. I'm not going to throw it all away because Neil is horny. You shouldn't either Hayden. Stand up for yourself. Tell Bennett off or better yet tell Mason & make sure you record the fight because I wanna see these boys." She says with a laugh.

I laugh along with her. "There's no way I can tell Mason. He'd freak and I can't come between him and Bennett. I'm not that girl." I say.

She sighs. "But you could come between Darin and Railin." She mumbles and I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to hear.

Her comment infuriates me.

I never asked for that.

"Yeah, but that was an accident. Besides I loved Darin and Railin. It was really confusing & hurt a lot of people.
Bennett isn't Railin and Mason isn't Darin or the other way around. They are two totally different guys. I'm not going to get involved with Bennett and that's it." I say and I hang up.

Immediately I wish I hadn't, but I sigh and put in my last curl before putting on my dad's necklace and diamond studs.
