When Kendall saw the inside of his house, her heart stopped. "Your house is beautiful."

Bill looked down. "Thanks. I don't always bring friends or girls over because I'm worried they'll only want to hangout at my house. You know?"

She nodded, observing the hallway. "I totally understand."

He smiled, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Thanks."

She smiled back tucking a strand of hair behind her ear nervously. "Where should we start your algebra work?"

He looked around. "My room or the backyard?"

She glanced around the house. "Maybe your room?"

He grinned, taking his hands out of his pockets. "Yeah. Okay. It's just up here."

He jogged swiftly up the stairs walking down the upstairs hallway and into a room. She followed, while looking around. When she got to his room she saw a king sized bed with a blue comforter, light blue walls, a desk, and a dresser. Hung on the walls were about ten trophies and metals. On his dresser, there were pictures of him, Sam and the basketball team. Kendall walked over to his bed and sat down, as he sat down at his desk.

She got up and went over to his desk. "Okay. So which questions don't you understand?"

Bill looked down at the paper. "I don't really understand numbers two and three."

She took a look. "To do -3(r + 5s) and 1a(x +5 + y) you multiply the outside number with all the terms in the parenthesis. Terms are separated by plus and minus signs. Number two, you multiply a negative with a positive, so you get a -3r-15s. So try number three."

He began doing number three. "Okay, there are three terms. 19x + 95 + 19y."

"Perfect! I guess you didn't really need the help, after all."

He blushed. "Yeah I guess. Thanks for helping me." Kendall shrugged, with a proud smirk.

He suddenly jumped up, making his math papers fall to the ground. She bent down to pick them up but he quickly dropped to the ground to get them. She caught a glimpse of his math grades and saw a ninety eight percent.

She looked at him, surprised, "I guess you actually don't need at help, huh?" She sighed, looking at the ceiling. "I guess my time up. I should get gong."

She left the room and Bill chased after her. "You can't leave!"

She turned around slowly. "What do you mean?" Bill rubbed the nape of his neck anxiously. "I'm your ride home."

She rolled her eyes as he pleaded with her. "You just got here. We don't have to do math."

She squinted her eyes. "What are you suggesting?"

He ran a hand through his hair. "Swim?"

"I don't have a swimsuit."

He frowned. "Can you borrow one of my mom's? She's pretty small. Probably not much bigger than you."

"Where's her bathing suits?"

He led her to a big bedroom with two walk in closets and a king sized bed. As he walked into one of the closets, he pointed to a set of bikinis. "I'm gonna go change into mine."

She shut the closet door slowly and picked out a black bikini, and surprisingly she slipped right into it almost perfectly. Kendall opened the closet door, surprised to see Bill sitting on the bed with blue swim trunks on.
Next to him were two towels.

"You ready?" She nodded as they walked down the stairs. He opened the back sliding doors and shut it behind them.

"This place is amazing."

A rock to jump off into the pool hung over a waterfall flowing into a huge in-ground pool. Elm trees bordered the backyard for privacy. A jacuzzi sat in the middle of the yard with lawn chairs in a row.

"I thought only you and your parents live here."

He pursed his lips uncomfortably. "I do. But don't ask."

"Okay..."

He dropped the towels, and grabbed her hand. "Come on." And ran into the pool with a huge splash.

He splashed her as she was just about to splash him. "That's not fair! I didn't have enough time," they laughed until their sides hurt.

His face turned serious. "I saw what happened today with Amanda. I'm really sorry."

She glanced down at the water uncomfortably, swirling the water with her index finger. "Me too."

He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. "Do you have any idea who would do that?"

She looked away as she shrugged. "Someone signed the name Angel."

He frowned as he scrunched his eyebrows, thoughtfully. "That sounds familiar..."

Kendall nodded as she pulled herself out of the water and pointed to the top of the waterfall. "Can we jump off that rock?" Bill got out after her, nodding with a grin. They raced to the top of the waterfall.
~
"How deep is it?"

Bill bit his lip. "Fifteen feet."

She stood over the edge, watching the water fall splash the surface of the pool and jumped over the edge, shrieking in excitement. Hitting the water with a splash, her body plummeted to the bottom on impact. Bill chuckled, waiting for her head to pop up. The wind whistled in his ear, a chill creeped up his spine, and goosebumps formed along his arms. Sixty seconds passed without her surfacing.

He laughed nervously. "Come on, Kendall." A few more seconds passed and his heart beat accelerated. "Stop joking around!"

Still Kendall's blonde head didn't pop up. He frantically looked around and jumped in after her. Floating at the bottom her head was down and she sank slowly to the bottom on her stomach. His heart raced out of his chest and he grabbed her waist, pushing up off of the ground of the pool.
~
When their heads popped up, he gasped for air and dragged her out of the pool, laying her on her back.

He put his ear over her mouth but no sound came out as he shook her. "Kendall!"

Taking a deep breath, he pressed his lips to hers and blew air into her mouth, performing fifteen compressions and repeated. Kendall's body showed no response.

"Dammit, Kendall." He beat the ground out of frustration as he blew more air into her mouth. Her eyes flew open, and she sprung up in a sitting position, kneeling over choking and coughing up water.

She gasped for air, her eyes widening at the look on Bill's face. "What happened?"

He wouldn't make eye contact with her. "You didn't come up."

She grabbed him in an embrace. "Thank you," and begin to sob. "Something grabbed my leg and wouldn't let go."

He let go of her. "What? Nothing was down there."

She shook her head. "There's probably even marks on my leg."

He grabbed her leg, his eyes widening at the red crescent shaped marks on her ankle. "There's nail impressions on your skin. What the hell?" He looked up at her, taking a shaky breath he grabbed the towels and hurried inside, locking the doors behind them.
~
He picked up the phone and started talking. "Mom? Please call dad and come home. Kendall and I went swimming and something grabbed her leg and she almost drowned," there was a pause. "No, I'm being serious. I think someone broke in."

Kendall shuddered as he hung up. "They'll be here in fifteen minutes." He walked to the front door. "Shit! I left the front door unlocked."

She walked over to him with a terrified expression on her face. "Someone definitely broke in." She handed him the paper she found on the kitchen table:

Maybe try locking the door the next time you bring girls home?
