Kendall sighed, noticing that she was alone in her room. She felt horrible for blaming Colin and decided to make it up to him at school.
She raced out to Jenny's car. On the way to school, Angel giggled.
"I heard you're gay, Jen?"
Jenny's eyes went wide. "Oh God, the news spread already."
~
Colin was walking with his head down. She raced after him."Colin!"
He kept going.
"Colin!"
He finally turned around. He had a black eye. She gasped, putting a hand up to her mouth. She immediately saw Bill and raced over to him.
"You said you wouldn't!"
She jabbed a finger into his chest as hard as she could and he backed up against a locker, totally cornered by Kendall.
"Wouldn't do what?"
She jabbed her finger nail deeper into his chest. "Beat Colin up."
Bill's eyes widened in disbelief. "I promise I didn't, Kendall. I haven't even seen him."
Have faith in the people you love.
Kendall remembers Zoe's words from her dream. "Okay. I believe you."
He smiled but appeared to be taken off guard by her willingness to believe him. "Thanks. I thought he was the one stalking you so why do you care so much?"
She wallowed hard. "He's not the one stalking me," She lowered her voice. "It's you."
His eyes widened. "What?"
She smiled, jokingly. "You, stalker."
He chuckled, embracing her. "Can't wait for tonight."
"Prom is going to be fun. But, I'm really nervous to ins out who Angel is."
He nodded. "Don't worry. You'll be safe. After all, you'll be with me, right?"
~
At lunch, Amanda sat with them for the first time in long time. Rose was giggling as she watched Louis across the room.Amanda smiled. "Prom is going to be amazing!"
Jenny smiled, coldly. "For you, it will be."
Amanda smiled. "Oh it will be fun for you too!"
Jenny's expression froze over with a look of mischief. "You're right, Mandy."
Amanda burst into laughter. "The only person who calls me that is Kendall."
Jenny smirked at her. "What's wrong with me calling you Mandy?"
She shrugged, leaning can in her chair. "Nothing, really. It's just a horrible nickname."
Jenny shrugged. "What about Manda?"
She made a sour face, making Jenny smile.
"What's wrong with that name?"
She pretended to barf. "It sounds like man duh."
~
Kendall sat her on bed, staring at the teal prom dress. Her cheeks warmed at the thought of Bill in a tuxedo. She smirked. An image of Colin in a tuxedo clouded her thoughts. She fought to make the image disappear, but it was simply too difficult. In that instant, her phone started to ring.
She was thankful for the break of thinking and answered. "Hello?"
A deep voice boomed on the other end. "I'll be over to pick you up at six thirty."
She smiled as a warm feeling filled her stomach at the sound of Bill's voice.
"Sounds great."
He cleared his throat. "And remember that you're safe. I'll be with you."
Her heart surged with gratitude. "Thank you so much. You don't understand how much I-"
He interrupted her. "-I love you, Kendall."
Kendall's mouth hung open, speechlessly.
"Did you hear me?"
She cleared her throat. "Uh, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. The voice made a beeping noise and I think it might die. What was it you told me, though?"
She could hear the disappointment in his tone. "Oh, it was nothing. I'll tell you at prom."
She frowned in confusion. "Sure thing. See you soon."
"Yeah."
She laid back on her bed, hands behind her head, resting in confusion.
Why didn't he just repeat himself?
Why did he say it in the first place?
Her thoughts raced million miles a second, lost in thought. She turned over to the other side of the bed to check the time. Four o' two.
She laid back down on the bed, closing her eyes.
A few seconds later, someone pounced on the bed. Her eyes shot open, heart racing as she saw Jenny sitting on her bed.
"What the hell, Jenny!"
She chuckled. "Sorry. Didn't mean to disturb your nap. Your mom let me in."
She sighed, sitting up, propped up on her elbows. "What's so goddamn important?"
Jenny smiled. "Well, since I left town, I met a new friend, Georgie. I forgot to tell you guys, sorry. Anyway, Georgie got me interested in alternative rock. Also punk rock."
"What kind of rock?"
A dark expression washed over her face. "Angelic."
Goosebumps formed on her arms and legs. "Huh?"
Jenny chuckled. "I'm kidding! Sorry about that--too soon? Like, The Pretty Reckless, Paramore, and Avril Vavigne."
She could still feel the goosebumps but nodded.
Jenny clasped her hands together. "So, I was thinking of sabotaging Amanda and Sam's prom tonight." Kendall shook her head in disbelief but she kept talking, "I'm not doing this for Amanda. I'm doing it for Sam.
I love Amanda. Honestly, I do. But, Kendall, we'll have prom next year so it's not like I'll be dying her whole entire prom experience. Please, Kendall, just listen to me."
"I'm going to regret this so freaking much, but okay."
After Jenny explained the sabotage, it was already five o'clock and she was starving but also a nervous wreck. Jenny left at five fifteen, leaving Kendall an hour to get ready for prom.
