Colin's dark eyes bored into Kendall's soul. She tried averting her eyes from his stare.

"I know you know something," She whispered forcefully.

He shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Then you would be correct."

"What do you know?"

He sighed, wringing his hands together nervously. "The phone call."

"How the hell would you know that?"

Colin exhaled, tugging on his hair. "I think I forgot to mention my uncle records phone calls. I swear that I'll delete it if you tell me more because I am so goddamn confused," he took a long pause before going on. "And I want to help you."

She sighed, nervously twisting the ends of her hair. "I honestly don't know much. The only person in our school named Angel is a freshman named Angel Humpfrey and I'm not even sure if she is the Angel doing the notes."

He nodded, running his thumb back and forth over his lip in a thoughtful state of mind. "It's a message. Angel. It's a saying... Like in the phone call she said, I'm your Angel and you need me."

She let go of Colin's shirt and backed away from him. He stood up against the door, leaning his head against the door.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what to do." She put her head in her hands, sighing.

He tilted his head to the side with a strange look on his face as he studied her carefully. "Well, I think I do."

"What? How?"

He smirked as he pulled a note from his pocket, handing it to her:

I know all of this has been very hard for you, Kendall, but everything will be over by next Saturday. Everything will make sense next Friday night at prom.

Xoxo,
Angel

Kendall looked up at Colin before quickly looking back down at the note.

P.s. Wear a nice dress to prom

Colin waited for her to react.

"This can't be good."

He sighed, running a hand threw his gelled hair. "Well, probably not. Why would it be good?"

She shrugged, and shoved her hands in the back pockets of her jean shorts. "I'm just tired."

He looked up at her. "Everyone gets tired. But we all wake up and go to school. That's the thing about being tired; you're too exhausted to even realize that you're tired."

"Everyone groans at the alarm clock. Everyone hides their heads when their mom comes in to wake them up."

He nodded, gingerly. "But we aren't tired. We just want an excuse not to function. There's no reason not to go to school or work to see your crush and friends."

She nodded. "You're right. I would want to see Amanda and Bill."

He looked down.

She exhaled. "I suppose that I wouldn't mind seeing you either."

He looked back up at her with deep and dark eyes. "I suppose that I wouldn't mind seeing you either."

She punched his arm as he smirked. "I guess I'll see you Monday."

He nodded.

She swallowed hard. "Why are you at your uncle's house?"

He shrugged. "Finstock said he'd pay me if I checked in the house every day."

She nodded, opening the door and walked right into Bill with his arms crossed over his chest. "Any reason why you're in the bathroom with my girlfriend?"

At the sound of the word girlfriend, Kendall blushed and looked up at Bill. "I don't recall ever being asked out. I also do not remember saying yes."

Colin smirked. She walked down the stairs with Bill as Colin watched them from the landing. She turned around and waved goodbye to him as he smirked. He watched Bill shut the door behind them, giving him a strange look. Kendall sighed as they got to his car. She jumped inside as Bill started the engine.

He locked eyes with her. "What were you two doing in the bathroom?"

She rolled her eyes. "Just talking."

He blinked. "Really?"

She forced a reassuring smile. "I promise."

Later that day, Kendall laid on her bed thinking about Colin. Where did he find that note? She was just about to text him when she realized that she didn't have his number.

She took a deep breath, standing up and walked out into the hallway. "Mom?"

"Yes honey." Ms. Smith called up from the living room.

"Can I borrow the car?"

"Sure. Why?" Ms. Smith called back up.

She walked down the stairs. "Amanda just wants to meet me at the..." she paused as she thought up a lie. "The mall."

Ms. Smith nodded. "Be back before dinner."

She nodded, walking into the garage with a horrible guilty feeling from lying to her mother. She started the engine and backed out of the driveway, taking a deep breath and remembered the way to Finstock's house.
