Amanda turned on her phone and typed something in. "Hell..."
Kendall looked down at her phone. "What?"
Amanda sighed. "Effie's Boutique is thirty five minutes away if we take a subway and it will take us right out to 86th street which is only a minute away from the boutique."
She shook her head in confusion. "That's great! What's wrong?"
Amanda chuckled as she shook her head. "I just... I'm not even sure. I just thought it wouldn't turn out this easy."
Kendall nodded as they stepped onto the subway. She sighed as she opened her bag, looking for a little snack. Her wallet fell out and rolled out of the subway.
"Oh shit!"
Just then, a boy a little older than her, bent down and picked up her wallet and stepped into the subway. His dark hair was a little messy but it suited him. A small smirk played on his lips when he looked at Kendall. She noticed his dark eyes and small figure with a small smile.
He raised her eyebrow, handing her the wallet. "I believe you dropped this."
She smiled as she grabbed it from him. "Yes, thank you."
He nodded. She looked down and then back up at him. "I'm Kendall."
Amanda gave her a confused look. He shook her hand. "I'm Nathan but you can call me Nate."
She nodded and looked down at the green watch on his wrist. "I like your watch."
Nate nodded. "Thanks."
"Where are you headed?"
He squinted his eyes. "Work."
She pursed her lips. "Where do you work?"
Nate looked down in embarrassment. "Effie's Boutique."
Kendall's eyes widened. "That's where we're going!"
Nate nodded. "That's cool."
Amanda snorted. Kendall shot her a dirty look. "How long have you worked here?"
Nate looked down at his watch. "A few months."
"When did you graduate?"
He shrugged, uncomfortably. "I'm nineteen. I graduated Albany High last June."
Kendall's eyes widened. "Albany High? As in Albany, New York?"
He nodded. "Yeah. I'll be twenty on the twenty first."
Amanda looked at Kendall strangely. Kendall hugged him, filled with enthusiasm. Nate laughed. "I have a girlfriend."
She let go. "What?"
Nate chuckled. "She's back in the state."
She shrugged, surprised that she wasn't surprised. Nate raised his eyebrow.
"What's her name?"
He looked down. "Beth."
"What college does she go to?"
He smirked. "Siena."
"I used to want go there but I don't know where I want to go anymore. What year is it for her?"
Nate sighed. "Sophomore."
She nodded. "How long have you been together?"
He looked down. "Since I was eleven."
She put a hand over her mouth. "That's so cute!"
Nate blushed.

When they all finally got out of the subway, Nate asked if he could lead them to Effie's Boutique. He opened the door for them and went behind the counter."So, what're you guys looking for?"
Amanda exchanged a smile with Kendall. "A prom dress for her."
Nate's eyes widened. "Prom? How old are you guys?"
Kendall giggled. "I'll be eighteen in October."
Nate rolled his eyes. "Don't you have school today?"
Amanda snorted. "Yeah."
Nate nodded without asking any further questions. Kendall's eyes widened at the sight of one of the prom dresses. She ran over to the dress on the display.
Nate sucked in his breath. "Kendall... I'm sorry but that dress is only there for display."
Amanda verbally pounced Nate. "What the hell did you mean that dress is only on display? This store is going to get a lot of bad reviews, mister."
Nate's face was red from embarrassment.
"Amanda, you're silly! I didn't want that dress."
Amanda gave her a confused look. "I know, I just mean that I wanted it."
Kendall put her head in her hands giving Nate an unsurprised look. "Anyway don't you already have a dress?"
Amanda scoffed with a smirk. "What about senior prom?"
She whipped her head back at Nate. "How much is that dress?"
He sighed defeatedly. "You girls are going to get me fired."
"Me? What did I do?"
He chuckled. "You brought her here."
He motioned to Amanda. She gave him a fake dirty look but erupted into laughter. "She didn't bring me here!"
Nate nodded. "Yeah you just dragged her here just for prom."
Amanda's eyes widened. "Prom is a big deal."
Nate nodded. "It wasn't such a big deal to me and Beth. She lived twenty minutes away and we never saw each other. She went to prom with someone else but after she graduated, she purposely drove to my house after no contact for four years."
Amanda smirked. "I thought you said that you've been together since you were eleven."
He nodded. "We weren't physically together but in short, we were always together, even if we didn't know it."
Amanda nodded as Nate sighed. "The dress is free."
