Kendall's heart raced. "What the hell, Zoe!"

Zoe looked down with a gleam in her eyes and softly whispered. "It's funny how..." She looked up at Kendall. "Often when you wish to scare another, you end scaring yourself."

"Zoe, why'd you do that?"

Zoe looked down. "The truth is, Kendall, no one understands me."

She glanced down and checked behind her to see if anyone was behind her. She looked back towards Zoe, with her head down, sighing. "Zoe-" and looked up just to see that no one was there.

She gasped looking up and down the hallways as Bill came up behind her. "Who are you looking for?"

She shook her head forcing a smile. "No one. Why?"

Slowly as Kendall thought to herself, she asked herself the question you're probably thinking in the back of all your minds: who am I becoming? Or more importantly, what's going to happen?

Amanda ran after Sam, screaming at the top of her lungs,m. "Sam! Please don't leave me! There's someone with a gun!"

Bill looked at Kendall and grabbed her arm, following Sam and Amanda into the janitors closet. They slid to the cold floor. Soon after them they could hear screams and shouts all down the hallways. The door swung open.

Everyone hurried inside as Jenny whispered. "We followed you in here. There's one problem though..." Chloe's eyes widened. "Zoe is missing."

In the darkness of the closet, Kendall fought the urge to tell them that she had seen Zoe not more than five minutes earlier, but their conversation was private so she squeezed Bill's hand and he put his arms around her. She couldn't feel more ashamed and afraid the second he put his arms around her but she didn't want him to let go. But he did.

The loud speaker went on. "Everyone in a closet, locker room, or bathroom is not safe so leave immediately."

Everyone stood up, swinging the door open and ran across the hallway into the ninth grade science room.
