Kendall closed her eyes. "It's Angel. Who the hell is Angel? I told Rose I'd bring last years yearbook to lunch tomorrow so we can see."

Bill nodded with a confused expression on his face. "Why would anyone do this?" Kendall shrugged, helplessly.

When the Remain's got home they showed them the note. Soon after Mr. and Mrs. Remain called the cops. They hugged each other fiercely, as Kendall and Bill watched from the couch.

"Do your parents love each other?"

He frowned, glancing at his parents. "Very much if that could be any less obvious. Don't your parents?"

She looked down, and played with her finger nails. "They used to."

He eyed her carefully. "What happened?"

She sighed dramatically. "My dad cheated on my mom and they split a few years ago. I haven't seen my dad."

He frowned. "If you truly love someone, you should never do anything that would hurt them."

She glanced up at him. "I know."

After the police came and investigated, Bill drove Kendall home at around five p.m. She went upstair and collapsed on her bed, wiping her eyes. She opened last years yearbook and scanned every girls name and even started scanning the boys names. She went through freshmen. Sophomores. Juniors. And even seniors. There wasn't a single Angel. Kendall put her head in her hands and sighed. She got up and went downstairs for dinner.
~
"I heard Jenny Humpfrey's back at school." Kendall's mother said as she took a bite of the pot roast.

She swallowed the pot roast, slowly with a dry taste in her mouth, nodding. "She came back today."

Ms. Smith glanced up at her. "Do you know why she left?"

She shook her head. "Can I tell you something?"

Ms. Smith smiled at her. "Of course, honey. You can tell me anything. After all, I am your mother."

She smiled sadly. "Amanda's dog died and you know how she likes Sam Sonne?"

She nodded, slowly digesting the information. "That's horrible that Bailey died! How's she holding up?"

She looked down at her plate. "Not good. See mom, that's the thing. We got in a-" Just then her phone buzzed:

Don't plan on telling anyone about what happened. After all, I'll have to bury you with the burden you'll have if you tell anyone.
Xoxo,
Angel

Kendall looked up at her mother, speechlessly.

P.s. Get your tongue back from the cat, that's me, but I highly doubt that you'll succeed.

Kendall stood slowly. "I don't feel good. May I be excused?"

Her brow scrunched together in worry, but she nodded anyway. "Of course."

Kendall walked to her room and fell onto her bed and screamed into her pillow and fell asleep.
~
She awoke to the sound of rocks hitting her window. She got up and opened her window. A rock flew through her window.

She stuck her head out the window and saw Bill standing on her front lawn and shouted down. "What the hell, Bill?!"

He grinned up at the window. "Come out!"

She rolled her eyes with a smirk on her lips as she tip toed downstairs and opened the front door as Bill hopped inside. "Guess what?"

She sighed, yawning as she rubbed her tired eyes. "What?"

He grinned, pulling out a picture of Jenny and a small blonde girl.

She sighed. "It's a picture of Jenny and some girl." He rolled his eyes and turned the picture over. Scrawled in pen was:

Jenny and Angel Humpfrey
Christmas 2012

She exhaled loudly. "Now I remember! That's Jenny's cousin, Angel. How could I forget? We met up with Jenny while she was with Angel last summer. She said she was in eighth grade. How could I be so blind? I searched for her in last years year book and no wonder I couldn't find her! She wasn't in high school last year. She's only a freshmen. Maybe I can talk to Jenny about Angel."

His eyes went wide. "No! Don't do that."

She laughed."Why not?"

He coughed uncomfortably. "She's Angel's cousin. She could be up to this too."

She shook her head. "No. She's my friend and she couldn't have broken into your house yesterday because she was shopping with Rose, Amanda, Zoe, and Chloe."

He nodded. "What about the locker?"

She sighed. "It might just be Angel."

Just then, the toilet upstairs flushed and Ms. Smith's voice echoed through the upstairs hallway. "Kendall?"

Their eyes went wide. "Bill, get out of here!"

He ran out the front door after whispering. "See you at school?"

She nodded and walked upstairs. "I was eating something."

She looked at Kendall confused. "But it's one a.m."

She nodded. "I was just really hungry."

Ms. Smith nodded with a yawn. "You better get back to bed. You have school in the morning."

She nodded with a sigh and climbed back into bed. Her mind raced as she thought about Bill, Angel, her mom, and Amanda. She finally fell asleep at two thirty a.m.
~
She awoke with a groan to her alarm going off at five a.m. and stood up. When she saw her reflection in the mirror she sighed at her disheveled blonde hair. She picked out a pink floral shirt and jean shorts. On the bedside table, her phone buzzed and she opened a text from Bill:

Heyy ;)

She smirked and walked downstairs to the kitchen table and ate blue berry waffles but frowned at a note on the table:

Maybe Sam will be back
Xoxo,
Angel

She choked on the waffle and quickly rinsed it down with orange juice.

P.s. Or not... I guess you'll find out.
