We walked for a while in silence, the only noise being the sound of our feet crunching over dried leaves and sticks. The woods just got thicker the further in we got, and i began to thank Aslan that i had decided to wear pants and a tunic. If i had worn a dress i would've died by now. Lost in my thoughts, i didn't notice that Caspian had come to an abrupt stop, and i slammed into his back. "Watch it." I mumbled, stepping back and brushing myself off.

He smirked at me and reached for Lucy as she nearly fell to her knees after having tripped over a branch for the fourth time. "You ran into me love, remember?"

"I should not have worn these shoes." Lucy grumbled, hurrying over to me and leaning her head against my shoulder.

"Lu, i think that has to be the most feminine thing i have ever heard you say!"

She smacked my shoulder and replied, " I'm just saying i should have been more prepared, thats all."

"Here." Caspian reached into his satchel that was draped over his shoulder and across his chest, and pulled our a pair of Lucys riding boots.

She gasped excitedly and grinned, taking them from him eagerly, thanking him as she hurried over to a rock and began putting them on. "This is wonderful Caspian! Brilliant!"

He laughed deeply and smiled. "Glad i could be of service your majesty."

"And you had Lucys riding boots because?" Do you carry around a lot of womens shoes in there?" I asked sarcastically, following him over to the young queen.

"Ignoring that comment, i saw her sneaking on the ship just as you were starting your departure and i noticed her outfit." He shrugged nonchalantly.

"Wait, you were there that night?"

"Yes. I saw you and Susan leaving in a hurry, and in that horrid weather, so i followed you both. In case you were to be in need of my assistance, of course." He sat down beside Lucy on the large rock and crossed his legs.

"How heroic of you, Prince Caspian." I curtsied and then rolled my eyes.

"King Caspian actually, and you should do well to remember."

"Pardon me?" I rose to my feet in front of him and placed my hands on my hips.

"It's King Caspian. You were there, remember?"

"Yes, yes, of course. I'm just a bit set back on the whole 'you should do well to remember it' thing." I raised my eyebrows as I spoke.

" Well you should. Your not yet a Queen, my dear." He rose to his feet as well.

I glanced at Lucys shocked face before speaking. " And if I don't?"

He pondered my response for a moment before smirking and winking at me while brushing against my shoulder as he walked by me.
