"Peter said you weren't suppose to be here until tomorrow." I smiled at him as he rode his horse in between mine and Lucy's.
"Well that was the plan originally, but I wasn't busy so here I am!"
"It's so good to see you again Caspian." Lucy grinned at him. "Susan will be thrilled."
He smiled awkwardly at her and chuckled. "Wow." He exclaimed as we reached the Castle.
"I know right?" I replied swinging my leg over and hoping down off my horse.
"I believe a proper welcome is order." He smiled as Lucy agreed and leapt into his arm. He released her after a moment and laughed whole heartedly as she slipped over to a badger who seemed to be wanting her attention.
"Well?" He stepped forward and spread his arms out. I smiled in response and wrapped mine around his torso gently.
"Caspian." A hard, strained voice called from behind me.
"Peter." He replied, letting me go and reaching out to shake Peters hand. Peter glanced down at Caspian's outstretched hand, but before he could reject it Susan came billowing past him and straight to Caspian.
As they hugged I walked closer to Peter and flinched as he stepped away. "Don't do that." I whispered lightly. "I love you, remember?" I held out my pinky to him, something that we'd started whenever either of us became unsure about anything.
He glanced down at and I noticed the tiny ghost of a smile playing on his lips as he wrapped his around mine and shook it gently. "It's good to see you all again." Caspian called out, smiling at me longer than necessary.
Peter noticed and quickly wrapped an arm around my waist, smirking at Caspian's disappointed expression. "Yes, it's good to see you as well."
"You're here already!" Edmund exclaimed, walking out and clasping him on the shoulder.
"It seems I am. Has Aslan arrived?"
"Not yet. He should be here tomorrow morning." Edmund replied.
"I guess until then we're- completely free." Susan smiled.
"I guess so. Care to show me to my room?" He smiled at me and frowned as Peter pulled me closer.
"Of course!" Susan chirped, stepping in front of me and tugging him toward the front doors.
"She's got it bad." Lucy sighed as we all laughed.
"Her extremely obvious desperation is what's so bad." Edmund laughed, earning a smack on the back of the head from Peter.
"Ow." He grumbled, pushing past us and back inside.
I stepped in front of Peter and took both of his hands in mine, swinging them back and forth horizontally. "How many times do I have to tell you-"
"Jealousy's not attractive." He cut me off.
"No." I laughed at his amused expression. "Jealousy isn't helpful. Trust me, okay?"
"I do." He nodded surely. "I don't trust him."
"You fought a war with him and seemed to be okay."
"That was different. On the battle field I respect him highly, but with you- not so much." He frowned playfully.
I ran my finger across his lips. "Now you just sound childish."
He grinned. "Alright, alright. Let's go properly welcome our guest. I'll play nice."
I rolled my eyes and held onto his arm as we walked inside. "Do you even know how?"
