I sat in silence as Peter discussed our options with Edmund and Lucy. "We can't just stay here while you and Lucy take Susan. There's no way we'll be able to know if shes alright. I can't stay here not knowing." Peter ran his fingers through his hair as he spoke.

"I understand that, but what about Maggie? You two just got married and when we return to our world you won't be anymore." Lucy frowned, glancing at me for my input.

"I hate to change the subject," Edmund cleared his throat. "But we have a bigger unresolved issue. Who poisoned Susan?"

I mentally slapped myself for not asking that question already. "It had to have been someone at the wedding. There's absolutely no way that a stranger could've been in and out without being detected."

"That's true. Unless it was during the ceremony." Peter suggested. "I-I don't feel right staying while you go, but I also don't feel right leaving without at least knowing who's to blame."

We all grew quiet as Aslan entered the room once more after having left to give us privacy. He smiled lightly as he padded over to us, reclaiming his previous seat. "Have you made your decision?"

"Aslan, would it be possible for you to call us back once you have answers and we've made sure Susan is alright?" Peter asked, rubbing my arm lightly.

The great lion looked thoughtful for a moment. "Possibly." He finally answered. "I wish to speak with you in private, Peter."

"Of course." He replied quickly, pecking me on the cheek before exiting the room.

A few hours later I sat on the balcony of Peters room, staring up at the moon. I turned gently as the door opened and Peter stepped in, closing it behind him before joining me. He sat down beside me, staring straight ahead. "We leave tomorrow morning."

I gasped, snapping my head to look at him. "Tomorrow? So soon? I know it sounds selfish, but we just-"

He nodded, cutting me off, reaching over and pulling me into him. "I know, but it's what's best for Susan."

"Of course." I replied, leaning my face into the crook of his neck, kissing the skin where his shoulder and neck met. Feeling him sigh against me I angled my body towards him, tilting his face towards mine. "I just wish we had more time."

He smiled, brushing his lips against mine, taking my bottom lip in his. "So do I, but we still have a few hours to be together."

I hummed and kissed him harder, playing with the hair at the back of his neck. "What's wrong?" I asked suddenly, feeling him grow distant.

"Nothing." He shook his head, trailing his fingers down my cheek. "I just have a question." I nodded for him to continue. "How would you feel about marrying me when we get back to our world?"

"I would love to, but aren't we coming back soon?" I questioned.

His only response was a smile. "Come on, it's getting cold."

*****
We all awoke early the next morning to make last minute preparations for our trip home. By nine a.m. we were standing on a platform in front of all of our people. Behind us, a large tree stood proud and tall.

Aslan waited for everyone to quiet down before turning to the tree and blowing lightly towards it. Gasps echoed all around as the tree split itself into two, intertwining at the bottom and top, leaving a large hole in the middle.

"Through many hardships two common foes have been united, but some of you still live with regret. I have created a portal for those of you that wish to start over. It will send you to a new world where you can live your lives together, in peace."

"We will go." Ex queen Prunaprismia stepped forward with her child in her arms.

"So will we." A couple stepped up beside her, nodding to Aslan.

"Wait!" A man called out. "How do we know he is not leading us to our deaths?"

"Let us be an example." Peter called out.

"Don't look so sad." Lucy smiled to Trumpkin and Reepeecheep who stood on either side of Aslan. "We'll all back soon!"

"Not all of us." Peter quickly interjected, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You two will."

"But why?" Lucy asked, directing her attention to the lion. "Have they done something wrong?"

"Quite the opposite, dear one." He smiled back to her. "Your oldest siblings and Maggie have learned all they can from this world. It is time for them to take what they have learned and use it in your world. You and Edmund, however, still have more to learn."

We all stepped forward and shook hands, exchanging the occasional hug here and there, before making our way over to the tree. Peter lifted Susan carefully into his arms, stepping through the portal carefully. One by one we crawled through slowly, bracing ourselves.

I blinked and suddenly we were back in the train station, standing in front of the train that was now open for boarding. The sound of guards rushing over to us and asking what happened filled my ears, snapping me back into the present.

"She's passed out. We need help!" Lucy replied as the guards began to call to the others for assistance.

"Come with us." A large man in a military uniform spoke to us with authority. "We will take your sister to a hospital. We'll get in contact with your mother and she can meet you there."

"Thank you." Peter shook his hand quickly before taking mine. I glanced back once more at train before smiling lightly to myself and mentally thanking Aslan for all his wisdom before turning away and exiting the station.
