"Peter!" I cried as he rushed down the hall, dragging me behind him. I squealed as he glanced back, shushing me and tickling my sides at the same time. "Where are we going?"
He laughed and came to a complete stop in front of the door at the end of the hall on the top floor. "Here." He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me into him.
"Wow- Because I've never seen your room before?" I rolled my eyes.
He smirked and pulled me in, closing door behind us. "Your not suppose to do that." I pointed.
"Do what?"
"Close the door when I'm in here. Susan would have a heart attack." I rolled my eyes and ran my fingers down the silk curtains that covered a small portion of the open doors that led out onto the balcony. "How come your room is better than mine?" I pouted and spun around as he plopped down on the bed.
"Because I'm the high king. My room is better than everyone's." He sat up at the foot of the bed, planting his feet on the floor and holding his hand out to me.
I rolled my eyes and accepted it, allowing myself to be pulled by him. I stood in between his legs and pursed my lips. "What?"
A smile graced his lips as he played with my hands. "I have something to ask you."
"So ask me."
He chuckled and shook his head. "It's not that simple of a question."
"Well-" The loud bang of someone rapping on his chamber door rang out, cutting me off. Sighing, he rose to his feet and kissed me on my cheek before flinging the door open.
"Susan would like to see you." Caspian's voice rang out.
"Now?" He sounded so exasperated.
I laughed at Caspian's expression as I joined them at the door and wrapped my arm around Peters waist. "Yes. Now."
He sighed and kissed the top of my head. "Well, lead the way." He motioned for a flustered Caspian to move.
"What was the question?" I whispered as we made our way down the hall.
"Later." He replied.
"Susan's had a brilliant idea!" Lucy cried, dashing towards us and tugged on Peters arm.
I smiled as he watched her adoringly and nodded at what she was saying, stooping a bit to match her height better. "Really? And what might that be?"
She made a face. "You'll just have to ask her." She spun on her heel and dashed back into the ball room.
Susan walked gracefully towards us and smiled. "I've decided that we're going to host a ball."
"A ball?" Peter asked as Lucy squealed and bounced up and down. "Right now? You do remember the conversation from this morning, right? Or are you really that daft?"
She rolled her eyes and cocked her hip out. "Yes. I remember and I think that a ball would be the perfect way to ease tensions and to show Aslan-" She paused. "And Caspian how appreciative we are to have them here."
"I love it!" Lucy clapped her hands together. "Maggie?"
"Uh- I," I stuttered and glanced up at Peter. "I think that a ball would be something good to do for those reasons-"
"Perfect!" Susan interrupted.
"But." She frowned at me. "I think it's a bit inappropriate under the circumstances."
She glared at me harshly and glanced up then to the side. "Susan." Peter exclaimed warningly.
She shook her head. "Well I'm the high queen! If I want to host a ball, I'll host a ball." With that, she spun around on her heel and walked out of the room with Lucy on her heels.
"Well." Peter sighed and looked down at me. "I guess we're hosting a ball."
