"Lucy." I whispered after everyone had settled down and were beginning to doze off around the dying fire. "Are you awake?"

She rolled over on her side to face me and gave me a sympathetic smile. "You're thinking about Peter, aren't you?"

I nodded slowly. "I can't help but feel so selfish."

"Selfish? What do you mean?" She frowned, propping up a bit more.

"Well, Peters here somewhere on this island enduring Aslan knows what while we're laying here because we're a bit tired." I shook my head and rubbed my hands down my face.

" We need to be well rested for tomorrow Mags." She smiled lightly and leaned over to pat my arm.

"Your right." I whispered, sitting up quickly. "But I cant." I rose to my feet suddenly and sprinted towards the trees.

"Magdalen!" Lucy called once we were a good distance from the camp. I hadn't stopped running since I left and was beginning to pant.

"Lucy I-"

"Don't." She breathed heavily. "Don't tell me to go back to camp because I'm not leaving you here alone."

I stared at her for moment, feeling a smile spread across my face. "Thank you."

She nodded and linked her arm with mine, pulling me further from the camp. "Do you think he's alright? Edmund said he looked terrible when they caught sight of him, a-and Caspian told Susan that these pirates like to use torture just for fun! Do you-"

"Lucy stop!" I exclaimed. "B-before we go any further I- I want to use the bathroom. Give me a second?"

She nodded slowly. "Okay. I'll be here."

I nodded and hurried off. Once i was out of her sight I crashed to my knees and let harsh sobs take over my body. I shook against my will with every gasp of breath I attempted to take. My hands began to shake so hard I couldn't even wipe the hot tears away.

With ever second I spent away from Peter my heart cracked more and more. If I couldn't even keep it together long enough to find him, how was I going to react when i actually saw him? Would I be able to help him? What would I do if i saw a bruise on his beautiful face?

"I- I can't do th-this." I cried. "Aslan- please h-help me. Help him. Help P-Pe-Peter. Please."
