I opened my heavy eye lids slowly, my head throbbing as I did so. Once they were fully open and my hand was pressed firmly to the bleeding spot on the back of my head, I pulled myself up into a sitting position. I noticed then that I was in a dark room.

I attempted to jump to my feet as the memory of how I got here came back, but my head slammed against the ceiling, knocking me back to the ground. "Hello?" I called, flinching as my scratchy throat made me want to cough. "Hello? Is anybody there?"

I waited for a reply for sometime, but was repeatedly met with unnerving silence. I rose up on my knees, careful of the low ceiling, and felt around, only then did I realize that I wasn't actually in a room, but a cage.

I slammed my hands against the surface in front of me as hard as could again and again. It was so dark I could see absolutely nothing, not even the bars a few inches in front of my face. Sitting back on my heels, I began to think of something that Caspians professor had told me once before. He said that if one of your senses is compromised the others get stronger.

With that in mind, I closed my eyes and began to focus on my surroundings. The air was extremely thick and heavy with something. I squeezed my eyes shut harder and tried to think about how it made my skin feel. Sticky was the word that came to mind, along with damp and hot. After realizing this, I came to the conclusion that it was extremely humid from water particles in the air, indicating that a large body of water is near by.

The next thing I focused on was sound. I couldn't hear anything aside from a soft swooshing sound that appeared to be constant. It sounded as though it was far away, yet close at the same time. This, I would assume, is because the cave walls create an echo.

I snapped my eyes open after a moment of realization. Taking in the location of the woods, the sounds, and the humidity I realized where I was- in an ocean side cave. The old me would think nothing of the fact, but the me that had been on many adventures in Narnia would know that ocean caves have a tendency to be half in the water and half on land. After a while, the water will begin to rise, filling the other side of the cave with water. I fought back tears of fear and shock as I laid my head back against the bars behind me. I don't know if it could be hours or minutes, but sooner or later this cave was going to flood and I was going to drown.
