"Where are we?" I asked as I followed closely behind Edmund. My feet sunk into the sand with every step I took and my wet clothes clung to me uncomfortably.

"About ten minutes from Echo Cave." Edmund peered at me over his shoulder, his wet hair stuck to his forehead. " Everything's going down tonight you know. We're going to get Peter back."

"Or lose him forever." I replied bluntly.

"Well, that's a way to be optimistic." He rolled his eyes at me. " I told Susan that I was going to find you and she said they would meet us at the caves."

"How did you know where I was?"

"Trumpkin and I followed the pirate that took you and once I was sure where he was headed I sent Trumpkin back to the others with the new plan." He helped me over a fallen log as he spoke.

"What exactly is the plan?" I asked.

"Well, you and I should come up on the right side of the caves, while the others will come to the left. We'll wait for word that Black Beard is approaching, then a few of us will hide out in the caves near the staff."

" Sneak attack." I smiled at Edmund. "The others will fall in behind the Pirates and we'll have them surrounded. No where to run."

Edmund nodded at me and replied, "You took the words right out of my mouth. They'll come at sun down. We don't have very long."

We began walking again, and with every step I took my heart rate increased. Of course I was happy, thrilled even, to see Peter again, but what if they out smart us?

A million things could happen if weren't careful, and a million other things could if we are. This is an unpredictable situation, and certainly one I was not prepared for.

I stared up at the sun as I walked, silently willing Aslan to be with us. If anyone could insure Peters safety, it would be Aslan. If only he would help us, but part of me was certain we were on our own.

I gasped as the Echo Caves came into few as their size startled me. I guess they weren't called Echo Caves for nothing. This is it, tonight could be the night everything changes. Tonight could be the night a son of Adam dies.
