Silence hung in the air in Peters room as Susan, Edmund, and my fiance took in the information Lucy and I had just presented to them. Peter sighed loudly and drug his thumb across the back of my hand, moving his hand from mine to my shoulder. I leaned into him and sighed once, softly, myself. "What are you thinking?" I glanced up at him, meeting his bright blue eyes that were now filled with concern.
"Well, i for one want to have a chat with Caspian."
"No." Edmund started. "If there really is something going on we should lay low and try to get some leverage while we still have the upper hand."
"This is having the upper hand?" Susan frowned, brushing her curled hair out of her face. She wore the same dress as Lucy, and toyed with her necklace periodically.
"This is knowing information they dont want us to know. I'd say its some what of an advantage." Edmund fired back. He and Peter were both wearing the finest suits i'd ever seen, Peters jacket being different from his brothers only by the color- red and gold, and the Narnian crescent on the pocket.
"I think the best solution is to just go on with the wedding." Susan replied, folding her hands and looking pointedly at me for an answer.
I frowned a bit, looking to Peter, who met my gaze immediately. "I dont want to post-pone the wedding because at the moment we dont really know enough to act anyway. Besides, if something does happen we can always deal with it after."
He nodded and squeezed my shoulder lightly. "Okay then. You heard the queen. We'll continue with wedding, just make sure everyone is on alert."
"You want me to notify the guards?" Edmund asked. "Like i said, Pete, i dont really think thats going to help. The less people that know, the better."
Peter took in Edmunds response before speaking. "Let Trumpkin and Trufflehunter in on everything and ask them to alert Glenstorm. Glenstorms men will do as he says without hesitation. They wont need to know everything in order to react if anything should happen. Trumpkin has been known to rally troops quickly as well."
"Yes, and Trufflehunter has been the most loyal." Lucy exclaimed, earning a smile from her eldest brother.
"Right. I think that would be our best option."
"Okay. Give me fifteen minutes." Edmund nodded and rose to feet with his orders, exiting quickly.
Susan stood as well, pulling Lucy to her feet. "Lets finish getting ready. Maggie, are you coming?"
"Yes." I smiled at her, watching Peter as he made his way to the balcony. "Give me a second, okay?"
I waited until they were out of the room and the door was securely closed before i made my way over to him. I stared out at the sun glistening on the ocean, feeling Peter wrap his arms around my waist and rest his head against mine. "A few more hours and you'll be Maggie Pevensie."
I giggled at the thought."I know. Of course there would be some obstacle to jump over along the way." We stood there in silence for a few more seconds before i spoke again. "Do you think something will happen during the ceremony?"
I felt his breath ghost across my neck as he exhaled lightly, and then placed a kiss on my shoulder. "Maybe. If it does though, we'll just jump together."
I smiled at his response and turned around in his embrace, hugging him tightly. "Always."
