Surprisingly, during the time that the Karasuno team had to wait, Crow did not take even a wink of a nap. In fact, he was out and about, talking with other teams when they would call him over, and he would also sit with some people as they watched the games currently going on in the gym. He ended up making out with a few of the managers that approached him, as well as some players.
Eventually, Ennoshita came to get him, so the two left to join the others for their next match. "All right!" Hinata yelled with his hands in fists. "We're gonna win round two as well-!" Suddenly, he got shaded by Aone as the dude walked passed. The Date Tech middle blocker paused, his eyes moving to Hinata's form, causing the ginger to freak and cling to Tanaka who gave him a weird look.
"Go go, let's go! Let's go Date Tech-o!"
"Date Tech, fight!" Moniwa yelled as they were in a circle.
"YEAH!"
"Running!"
"Those guys," Tanaka glanced at the ginger who was trembling with a terrified expression on his face. "Sure keep busy with scare tactics."
"We're receiving first," Daichi told the team when he came back from the captains' meeting with the referee. "We're on this side."
"Right," Keishin nodded.
"Warm up!" the captain called as the coach started pushing the ball cart. "Receiving!"
"Yessir!"
"Let's do this!" Keishin said as he pushed up his sleeves. "Keep it in play!"
"Yessir!"
Thus, the coach started hitting at them, and each player passed it back to him and went to the back of the line so the next person could get the ball hit at them. "Rolling thunder!" Nishinoya suddenly did his famous receive, causing a few people to raise an eyebrow as he sprang up. "Again!" Then he grinned. "Nailed it," He looked so proud of himself.
"Noya-san, nice receive!" Tanaka snickered. "You're totally sharp! Aside from the name," He gave him a thumbs up before outright covering his mouth as he laughed, which pissed the libero off.
"The name is sharp too!" He snapped.
"Teach it to me!" Hinata was on the dude like a fly on honey. "Teach me how to do the again!"
"Was that different from the last one?" Tsukishima was also snickering.
"What was that?"
"Just receive it normally."
"Nishinoya's up to it again."
"Psst, Nishinoya! Daichi will get mad at you again.." Asahi warned quietly, but the libero wasn't having it.
"All right!" He put his hands on his hips. "We've got nothing to worry about!" He told his team as they looked confused. "You guys focus on what's in front! I've got your backs," Nishinoya promised with a grin.
"Th..." A few people gasped. "That's so cool!"
And then, the referee blew the whistle. "Form a line!" The two captains called, each team doing so as they got ready to play. "Let's have a good match!" They bowed to each other before heading up to shake their opponents' hands.
"Go go, let's go! Let's go, Date Tech-o!"
"After watching them in the first round," Keishin spoke to his players as the clock ticked down to the start of the game. "I expect their first shot will be a powerful serve. They crush with serves and block every point. Date Tech starts by discouraging their opponents from the get-go. Receive the first ball and get it up in the air!" He challenged them.
"Yes sir!" The team accepted.
"Neh," He glanced at the setter. "You know what to do, Kageyama?"
"Hai," He nodded in confirmation.
"Good," Keishin grinned slyly. "Now break through that Iron Wall!"
"Yes sir!"
"Karasuno..." Daichi called as the team gathered in a circle. "Fight!"
"Yeah!" The team resounded back. Heading out onto the court, they waited for the referee to check the line ups. This time, Nishinoya/Tsukishima was in position one, Kageyama was in position two, Tanaka in three, Hinata in four, Crow in five, and Asahi in six.
"So they're bringing out the big guns," Oikawa hummed as he saw that Crow was on the court, his eyes narrowing. "How fun, this should be interesting." Meanwhile, Date Tech had their number one in position one, their number three in position two, Futakuchi in three, Aone in four, Moniwa in five and number twelve in position six.
"Bring it!" The team challenged as the referee signaled for the first serve from Date Tech.
"One point!"
"Kasasaki, you can do it!"
"C'mon!"
Thus, the ball was served, and it went straight for Crow. "Crow!" Nishi shouted at him, so with that vocal boost, the ravenette passed the ball easily to Kageyama.
"Nice receive!" The setter called as he positioned himself in the best spot for optimal options. He chose a normal quick for Hinata, but the blockers were on him faster than anyone expected. Luckily, Hinata tooled the block and got the point, clumsily though it may have been.
"Right on! Nice placement, Hinata!" Tanaka called as the point was allocated and Aone walked away. With that, Karasuno was given the ball, and it was Kageyama's serve.
"Kageyama, nice serve!"
"Take it for a point!" The team called as the serve was whistled, and the setter spun the ball in his hand. Taking a second, he tossed the ball up, did his approach, and hit it. However, it went to the libero, who easily got it up. They went for a fast attack, but Nishinoya was on it.
"Sorry Ryuu, cover!" The libero called as he got up.
"Got it!" The left wing got ready to underhand set.
"Back!" Asahi called with his hand up. Tanaka sent the ball his way, only for him to get shut down. Crow, however, did not let that happen so easily and somehow got under the ball before it hit the ground.
"UP!"
"Nice one Crow!"
"Reset!" Daichi called from the sidelines as the ball went to Crow, who down-balled it over high enough to miss the blockers.
"I got it!" Date Tech's libero got the ball up, and they went for another fast attack. Only this time, they were the ones who got shut down.
"You're not the only team with good blockers," Crow murmured as he headed to the center of the court for the team to celebrate the point.
"Yeah!" Karasuno cheered. Maybe, the Date Tech coach thought as he held his chin with narrowed eyes, this might be more than what we bargained for.
