"Anyway," Crow murmured, casting his gaze away from the frost-head as he moved to measure the net with his hand. "Looks good, we ready to start?"
"Wait, so are you setting or is your setter setting?" Yaku asked as he looked between the two he had just mentioned.
"I'm still setting, but we can switch off if he gets tired of blocking. That okay?" The ravenette asked Kageyama, who nodded but still looked a bit bewildered at all of the information being thrown at him. "Heads up," Crow said as he threw a ball at Bokuto, who caught it.
"Hahaha let's do this!" He grinned, already having moved on from the incident. Thus, he got into position on the outside while Crow stood at the net in the setter's spot, and Kageyama took his place on the opposite side of the net with Yaku behind him. Tossing to the ravenette, Bokuto's eyes were sharp as the ball was set up. Doing his approach, the owl jumped and slammed the ball cross. It got past Kageyama, but Yaku managed to get a hand on it, but there was no one there to get it after him so it fell. "Hey hey hey! Not bad!" The ace grinned.
"You can hit it harder than that."
"I'M WARMING BACK UP OKAY GET OFF MY BACK! Wait, don't, please get on my back."
"No." Crow threw another ball at him, which he caught effortlessly again. The next time he went up, Bokuto had to tool Kageyama instead of going past him, meaning Yaku did not get to touch the ball.
"Whoa, almost didn't see ya there," He laughed as he patted Kageyama through the net. "Nice job man! But ya can't beat me with Crow on my side!"
"Whatever you say," Crow deadpanned at him as another ball was thrown at his head, and he once again caught it. A few more in and Crow suggested he and Kageyama switch. Bokuto grumbled a bit about it, but in the end, Crow was blocking and Kageyama was setting. Every damn time, Crow got at least one hand on the ball if he didn't shut it down completely.
"I did not expect to be doing a lot of block covering, and yet here I am," Yaku chuckled as he got up from saving a tooled ball.
"It's a good skill," Crow remarked. "Being able to go after a block touched ball when most people's brains remind them that the ball is going out before they remember that the ball has been touched."
"Yeah, that happens a lot," The libero admitted with a slight grimace.
"Hey hey hey setter man, you're pretty damn good!" Bokuto, meanwhile, was slapping Kageyama on the back repeatedly as he laughed. "It's almost kinda creepy!"
"Thank...you?" The setter blinked, wincing a bit with each hit to his back.
"Stop terriorizing him bird brain."
"I'M DOING NOTHING OF THE SORT CROW!"
"Then why does he look like he regrets his life choices right now?" Yaku and Crow deadpanned at the ace, who gaped at them.
"STOP GANGING UP ON ME!"
"I think we should stop here," Crow decided, his eyes on the clock on the wall which read that it was almost 11:15pm. "Unlike some, I value my sleep."
"Right then," Bokuto was immediately on board, as was Kageyama. Yaku just figured it was something he didn't know about Crow yet, so he went along with it and helped lower the nets again and put the balls away. Once those tasks were completed, the four retired to their rooms.
"And where have you been?" Daichi and Suga were on the two like ants on ice cream. Kageyama was about to cook up an excuse, only for Crow to speak up first.
"We were practicing for a bit since we were feeling a bit restless."
"Oh..." The captains exchanged a look before frowning. "I get Kageyama being restless, but you've been playing all day Crow. Where do you even get extra energy?" They shook their heads. With that, the two were let off with a warning and to go to bed after quickly freshening up. As Crow was coming back from doing just that, he found a certain pudding head awaiting him.
"Crow-sama," He greeted, causing the male to nod with a raised eyebrow.
"Kozume. Need something?" He questioned, making sure to pause in front of him instead of just moving past him like he had been planning on doing originally.
"Um," The Nekoma setter's gaze darted around, almost like he was embarrassed about what he was going to ask. "How many lovers do you...have?"
"Long term or one night flings?" Crow returned the question.
"Long term," Kenma specified in turn, so the ravenette took a second to mentally count how many people he met continuously.
"I'd say about six or seven," He produced an answer, so the pudding head nodded. "...Is that it?"
"Yes," He confirmed. "But, I'd also, um," This time, there was a flush to his face that accompanied his next words. "Like to work with you a bit during the next camp, if you don't mind."
"Sounds good," Crow reached over and ruffled Kenma's hair. "Good job today, let's have a good time tomorrow as well." He told him, lifting his hand off of his head. Those words drifted in the air as Kenma watched the ravenette go, wonder and admiration on his face. Then he hugged his game to his chest and jogged back to the Nekoma room, smiling the entire way there.
"You sure took your time," Tanaka said as Crow slid open the door to the Karasuno room and slipped inside. "We were starting to worry about you~" He teased.
"No we weren't," Suga shoved his hand in the cueball's face, successfully preventing him from saying more as Crow raised an eyebrow at them but said nothing as he navigated through the futons to his own, where he plopped down with a sigh. Seeing that, Suga took the chance to glare at Tanaka. "Don't you know how touchy he is about where he goes at night?!" He demanded hushedly.
"Wha--Oh, I totally forgot," The second year looked shocked at himself. This was Crow they were talking about, not just their teammate but also the illusive savior of most of Japan.
Crow could hear them, but he didn't feel the need to comment so he just flipped over and wiggled under his blankets. Soon, everyone followed suit, and Nekoma High was as dark and silent as the night around it.
