The next day, as foretold, a practice game was held at Karasuno High school, meaning everyone was scrambling to set the gym up properly while also getting a bit of practice in. Crow was going to be taking notes since Kiyoko and Yachi were going to be flipping score.

However, until game time, Crow continued to lounge on the stage, thus bearing witness to a very interesting conversation. "Want some help?" Hinata asked Yachi as she went to unload some chairs.

"No, it's fine," She shook her head and her hands. "You go do your own thing."

"Got it!" He agreed, turned, and slapped his cheeks, the action scaring the poor girl. "I'm not gonna lose today!"

"Um," The prospective manager voiced hesitantly. "Today's match is just practice, right?"

"Yeah," The ginger confirmed.

"I was wondering," Yachi reached up to scratch her cheek. "Why you can study so hard to play in away games and get so fired up for a practice match.."

"Huh?" Hinata's eyebrows shot upwards. "Because I want to get better and win, right?"

"I-I see..." The girl definitely didn't see, from what Crow was hearing. "I'm sure you have your reasons."

"Reasons?" the boy parroted, then reiterated. "Reasons why I wanna win?"

"Uh, yeah," Yachi confirmed, then flinched at the face he was making.

"Do you need a reason to not want to lose?" He tilted his head, then glanced over at his first year partner. "Hey, Kageyama. Is there some reason you don't want to lose?"

"Huh?" Kageyama turned towards him like he had just asked the most ridiculous question ever. "Why would there be? Do you need a reason to eat when you're hungry?"

"Right?" Hinata agreed, nodding with his arms crossed.

"Yachi," Crow muttered, causing the girl to flinch and turn her attention to him quickly.

"Y-yes?!"

"You know about Darwin's theory, right?"

"Survival of the fittest, right?" She cocked her head, confused as to why he was bringing it up.

"For those two," He jerked his head at Kageyama and Hinata. "They're like the animals that Darwin's theory speaks of. If they don't win, it's natural selection. Of course, it's not as drastic as death, but the feelings they have is definitely comparable to death. Think of it that way if it helps you understand it more," He finished, then went back to taking his nap as the prospective manager processed his words.

"I see..." This time, she actually did see. Finally, the team Karasuno would be playing arrived.

"Thank you for having us!" They called as they appeared outside the gym doors.

"Gather round!" Daichi yelled, causing everyone to scramble to greet their guests. Crow, on the other hand, scooted so that he was hidden by the curtains, causing Yachi to sweatdrop with a smile.

"Let's go line up along with them," Kiyoko suggested, so Yachi followed her as they went to do just that.

"Let's have a good match!" The two teams bowed to one another, and then the practice match was underway. After warming up a bit more, the two teams went to their respective sides to change into their jerseys. Karasuno's side was quite rowdy, but not rowdy enough that Crow wouldn't be able to hear Keishin yell at him to get his ass over there.

"This is our first match with another team since the interhigh prelims," Keishin told his team once everyone was rathered around him. "You haven't forgotten the frustration of losing from then, have you?"

"No sir!" The team responded, bringing a grin to the coach's face.

"All right, go out there and mess 'em up!" He ordered.

"Yessir!" With that, the boys in jerseys formed a circle as Crow sat down on one of the chairs. "Karasuno, fight!"

"Have we played this team before?" Takeda asked Kiyoko.

"No, we haven't," She answered. Crow heard a gasp, so he glanced over at them. Yachi was staring as Karasuno's starters strode onto the court, almost as if she were starstruck. A slight smile slid onto the ravenette's lips, but then he remembered he was supposed to be taking notes, so he grabbed the clipboard and got ready to write the goings of the team.

The game went well, a solid victory. The opposing team went home, and Karasuno was left to clean up the gym. "Amazing!" Yachi exclaimed. "That was amazing! I was just watching, but it was like... it was like.."

"Did it all well up like whoosh?!" Hinata supplied excitedly.

"Yeah it did!" Yachi beamed.

"THEN BE OUR MANAGER!"

"Huh? Um... uh.."

"Stop pressuring her, let her take her time," Crow kicked him square in the side, causing him to fly into the wall and Yachi's jaw to drop. "Don't worry about it," He glanced at her, then sweatdropped at the look on her face.

"CROW STOP ABUSING HINATA!"

"...Yeah, my bad.." He grimaced. Ever since the Tenma incident, he had been forgetting to control his strength, and it was resulting in more violence and some injuries.

"I'M OKAY!" Hinata sprang right back up though, so it appeared all was well. "You're so strong, Crow-san! How do you do it?!" His eyes sparkled as he demanded answers, which only made the ravenette sweatdrop more.

"Being on the street since childhood will do that to you," He dismissed briefly, walking past him to help lower the net. Eventually, everyone was starting to head home as the sun disappeared from the sky. As Crow walked out of the club room after grabbing his things, he paused as he saw someone running towards him. "Uh, hello..?" He raised an eyebrow as Yachi stopped in front of him, panting a lot.

"C-Crow-sama," She breathed, then straightened and squeezed her eyes shut. "D-do you wanna come home with me?!"

"...What?"

"I just.." She trailed off, looking hesitant. "Noticed that you never leave in a set direction, and what you said earlier..." She swallowed, mustering up her courage as she took his hands in hers and looked him dead in the eye. "You can stay over at my house if you need a place to stay!"

"..Ha," Crow chuckled, shaking his head before smiling at her. "Well, I haven't really slept in the last three days, so if you're sure, I guess I could take you up on that."

"Three--?!" Yachi's jaw dropped as well as her hands from his.

"Why do you think I sleep so much during practice?" He teased, reaching out and ruffling her hair. "So, you gonna lead the way?"

"Y-yes," She nodded, and so off they went.
