"HOLY CRAP!"
"CROW-SAMA CAN SET THOSE IMPOSSIBLE SETS TOO?!"
"THAT FELT AWESOME!" Hinata gaped at his upperclassman that had just sent him a freak quick. He hadn't been expecting it, but of course he always jumped to hit so the ginger had done as he always did. Not to mention, he knew Crow was awesome, but now that thought was amplified beyond comparison.
"Nice set," Kageyama murmured, causing the ravenette to glance at him and roll his eyes.
"Don't be jealous, Kageyama. My sets aren't as accurate as yours, so it was basically a fluke," He told the setter, who flinched. "It was written all over your face," Crow answered the unasked question.
"O-oh, I'm sorry.."
"Don't be," He patted the boy on the shoulder. "Just go serve again."
"Right!" Kageyama nodded, quickly going to do as told. The next point went to Aoba Johsai on a kill, so it was Oikawa's serve.
"Nothing feels more oppressive than when the usual big talking mood maker goes silent," He hummed as he spun the ball in his hand, then tossed it up after the whistle. "Nothing!" And then, he jumped and slammed it over the net, straight at Tanaka.
Of course, the cueball shanked it. After that point, the coach called for a time out. "Just keep it up," Keishin told his team before giving Crow a pointed look. "I thought I said no funny business."
"I'm too full of funny business."
"The only thing you're full of is shit, Crow," the fake blonde rolled his eyes before returning his attention to everyone. "Remember, even if you can't get it back to the setter, someone can cover it as long as you keep it in the air. But don't forget who we are playing against. We're playing against Aoba Johsai, a seasoned and well rounded team. They'll get the drop on us sometimes, but we just need to accept it and move on."
"Hai!" The team confirmed. Thus, Seijoh and Karasuno returned to the court to continue the match.
"Nice serve!"
"One more point!" Aoba Johsai called to their captain, who served the ball right after the referee signalled for him to serve. It was once again headed for Tanaka, who got it up. However, it was an overpass, which Kindaichi absolutely slaughtered, causing the fans to go wild.
"We're fine," Crow said. "Don't worry, we got the next one."
"Right!"
The next ball that Oikawa served went, once again, to the cueball. He got it up again, but it was short. "I got it," Crow called the ball, sending it to Asahi in the back row. He managed to get the point off the block, meaning it was Tanaka's serve. "You got this," The ravenette gave him a thumbs up, to which he nodded in return before moving his eyes to the ball as he bounced it.
Then, he slapped his cheeks, which caused a few people to flinch and glance at him in concern. The ref blew the whistle and moved his hand, so without further ado, Tanaka served the ball. Iwaizumi ended up being the one to hit it back, and Hinata got a one touch. "Nice job getting a hand on it!"
"Chance ball!" Tanaka said as he passed the ball to the setter.
"Send it my way!" Hinata yelled as he drove in. Kageyama sent it straight to him, and Karasuno got the point, making it 14 to 12.
"All right!"
"Tanaka, nice serve!"
"Get us another good one!"
The next point went to Seijoh after a kill from Kindaichi above the block. Crow probably could have jumped in to help, but it just didn't happen that way. Instead, he headed over to Hinata after the point. "Hey," He muttered, catching the first year's attention. "Want me to block with you for middles?"
"You don't have to, but if you can that would help a lot!" The ginger responded eagerly, so the ravenette nodded.
"Then I'll start blocking with you as much as I can, but don't slack off just because I'm lending a hand," He teased with a slight smirk, causing Hinata to grin.
"I won't!"
The next point went to Karasuno after Crow obliterated the block. "Nice kill!"
"WAY TO GO CROW!"
"LET'S GO-GUH-GO-GO CROW!"
"CROW-SAMA IS SO COOL!"
"CRUSH 'EM CROW-SAMA!"
"Good grief," The ravenette deadpanned at how many cheers were aimed at him. He didn't even know half of their names. The next rally got Seijoh the point with a kill from Hanamaki, so Hinata and Nishinoya switched.
"Matsukawa, nice block!" Aoba Johsai called as said person blocked a quick from Tsukishima. Luckily, it was a pretty high ball, so the libero could get it back up easily.
"I've got it!" He yelled, sending it back to Kageyama.
"Back," Crow said as he got ready to start his approach. A quick look at him got the blockers distracted enough so that only a single blocker remained on the outside, which meant that Karasuno got the point as Kageyama set the outside.
A few plays later, Crow kicked Kageyama square in the back. "Stop it."
"Wha--"
"Let them try to block us," The ravenette narrowed his eyes at the setter. "Right now, you're making it harder on all of your hitters."
Of course, a time out was called. "Just slow it down," Keishin had Crow in a light chokehold, but the second year didn't seem to mind as he just looked bored and a bit annoyed. "Kageyama," The coach gazed at his setter. "I get that you want our spikers to go up against the minimal amount of blockers possible, but sometimes that's not possible. Besides, do you think Crow would care if there are blockers or not?"
"But Crow-san is--" Kageyama tried to protest, only for the fake blonde to shake his head.
"This is volleyball, and every one of your teammates is equipped to get around the block. Your job, Kageyama," His voice hardened slightly with his next words. "Is to give them a set that is easiest for them to hit. That is the job of the setter. And, as we all know," All eyes flew to the ace. "Manbun can't hit shoots for the life of him."
"Why're you calling me out like that right now?!" Asahi gaped as everyone else chuckled. Thus, the tension left the team ready to get back into the game.
