"Well this is new," Tanaka remarked at what he saw in the gym. Normally, Crow would be napping, which hadn't changed that day. What had changed was his pillow.
"Hey," Tsukishima nodded his greeting to his elder, the ravenette snoozing in his lap as he stroked his hair.
"When did you two become a thing?" The second year scrutinized with narrowed eyes.
"We aren't," The blonde answered cooly, glancing down at the person in his lap. "He just asked me sit, and then I became a pillow."
"Ha, he did that with Asahi-san last year," Tanaka recalled with a laugh. "Ah, good times. I think he also got Suga-san to do that once or twice."
"Hm," he hummed, no longer seeming interested in conversing with the second year as his focus returned to the man sleeping on his lap. It wasn't surprising to him that Crow had gotten other people to be his pillow, but for some reason, having it confirmed by Tanaka made his stomach twist.
"Tense pillows aren't nice pillows," The ravenette grumbled as he shifted, and instantly Tsukishima relaxed his leg muscles as best he could.
"Sorry." He murmured as Crow got comfortable again. Tanaka felt like he was third wheeling, so he excused himself to the clubroom, grumbling the entire way there. Soon enough, the others began to show up, and then the showdown began.
"Your legs must be numb, let's switch," Kageyama suggested snappishly, like he was trying to be caring but at the same time just wanted to get his lover away from the blonde. Tsukishima was not impressed.
"My legs are fine, thanks. You shouldn't get jealous over something so trivial, your highness."
"HUH?!" The semi-nice exterior exploded with rage at the nickname and insinuation, drawing a smirk from the provoker.
"Careful, Crow's sleeping," He held his finger to his lips, looking incredibly smug as the setter fumed in front of him.
"Bastard."
"Quite the crude words your highness," The blonde snickered as Kageyama stomped off. Feeling the person in his lap stirring, Tsukishima's eyes moved downwards, finding Crow awake and looking up at him. "You awake now, Crow-sama?"
"Yeah," He hummed, taking a second to rub his eyes. "Thanks," The ravenette said, pulling Tsukishima's head down and smashing their mouths together. Almost everyone in the gym had to do a double take, and then almost all of their jaws were on the floor. Kageyama felt robbed. Hinata felt indignant. Noya felt competitive. Yamaguchi felt betrayed. The third years felt surprised. Ennoshita and Kinoshita didn't really feel anything from the scene.
"Y-you're welcome," Tsukishima stammered after coming out of the kiss. With that, Crow sat up, and the two moved off the stage as the door opened and Keishin and Takeda showed up.
"Gather around!" The coach called, so with one last look at each other, everyone stood in a few rows in front of the two adults as they began to explain the plan for the next day: the day of the prelims.
"If we win twice in tomorrow's preliminaries, we'll go on to the qualifiers in October to decide our region's representative," Takeda told the team as he held the preliminary brackets. "On top of the eight schools that make it past the preliminaries, eight powerhouse schools will go to that tournament in October."
"We can only play two matches in the prelims?" Hinata brought up, probably sad he didn't have more opportunities to play.
"Since we made it to the quarterfinals in the interhigh prelims, we got a first-round bye," Sugawara explained to him, causing his face to light up.
"Wow, we're awesome!"
"All right," Daichi called, seeing that the coach and advisor were done telling them about tomorrow. "Let's start with stretches!"
"Yessir!" The team resounded, jogging off to form a circle in the middle of the court. They stretched their arms, their shoulders, their legs, their backs, and then they were deemed ready for actual practice to begin.
"Not a thing, huh?" Tanaka elbowed Tsukishima, sending him a snarky look as he passed him. At first, the blonde didn't seem to react, but if one looked closely, his lips were upturned.
Doing the normal drills, the practice went until dusk, finishing off with serving. After that, everyone went home. "When did you and Tsukishima start dating?" Hinata asked, messing around with his volleyball as he, Kageyama and Crow walked to Ukai's house together.
"We aren't dating; I don't date," Crow told him plainly, making the ginger pause, catching his ball to give his full attention to the ravenette.
"Then what was with the kiss?"
"A reward for letting me sleep on him," He shrugged, then cast a knowing look towards the setter. "If he'd let Kageyama switch with him, he'd have gotten one too."
"I-Is that so.." Kageyama flushed a bit before his entire face went red. "So you heard that?"
"I'm a light sleeper most days, of course I did," Crow confirmed, and suddenly Hinata laughed.
"Come on Kageyama, you're such a simp!" He snickered as he bounced around. "Don't you have any dignity when it comes to Crow-san?"
"What are you talking about, dumbass?" The setter squinted at him. The ginger just hummed, tilting his head.
"I wonder.. what do I mean?" He asked teasingly before his gaze sharpened like a thousand knives. "Maybe that showing how in love you are with Crow-san every second is what's repulsing him?"
"HUH?!" Kageyama roared, completely enraged as he reached out to grab the ginger's collar. "You piece of sh--"
"Enough," Crow walked right through the middle of them, effectively breaking the two up. "If you're good for the rest of the night, I'll suck you both off." He said nonchalantly, continuing forward with his hands in his pockets as the two gaped at him.
Hinata was the first to shake it off. "Okay!" He beamed, jogging to catch up. Kageyama snapped out of it a second later, growling a bit but not saying anything else as he also caught up with the two. The ginger had gone back to playing with his ball and humming, so while the rest of the walk wasn't silent, it was peaceful.
