"W-why are you here?!" A first year yelled while pointing at the other first year who was practicing his serve and was in the middle of his jump. Gasping, he fell, landed safely, but the ball dropped right on his head.
"Ow." The two stared at each other for a good minute before he responded. "You're that guy from last year," He recalled. "Whatever your name is."
"M-My name is Hinata Shoyo!" The ginger introduced himself with a flustered expression. "I doubt you would even remember a team you beat in the first round-!"
"I remember you very well," The other first year interrupted. He stared at him for a bit, causing Hinata to get even more flustered.
"What? You wanna fight?" He raised his arms in a semi-martial art pose.
"You klutz piece of shit!" Well that insult came out of nowhere.
"D-don't you make fun of me!" The ginger growled. "I know I got clobbered in that match, but I won't lose next time!"
The silent tension that filled the room after that bold statement couldn't even be cut with a stake knife. However, a second later, the tension shattered.
"Urusendayo," A voice groaned, causing both of the new players to jump slightly. "I didn't mind you practicing your serves, but yelling just ain't it," A person with medium, dark black hair glanced at the two from his spot on the stage. "So keep it down, would ya? Or go outside, cause I still have thirty minutes to nap."
"W-who are you?!" Hinata cowered slightly, intimidated by the sound of the person's voice and the way he was carrying himself.
"Name's Crow," He answered, then yawned as his arm fell over the side of the stage so it was dangling off. "Now shut it so I can sleep."
"Who knew that the setter from Kitagawa First would choose us?" Daichi's voice could be heard from outside a few seconds later, drawing another groan from the person known as Crow.
"But the guy is cocky, I just know it."
"Not again. Would you stop trying to intimidate everyone you see?"
"I-I would never do such a thing."
Thus, the three upperclassmen entered the gym, so the two first years turned to face them. "Hello!" The black haired first year greeted. Of course, Tanaka was making faces while Sugawara and Daichi were just smiling.
"Hey, hey, hey. What do you guys think--"
"Are you Kageyama?" Daichi reined in the feral manchild, directing his question to the first year.
"Hello," He repeated his greeting as the third years walked over.
"Oh, hey Crow. Nap time already?" Suga piped up.
"Yeah, so try and keep it down guys."
"Sure," The official setter gave him a nod and a thumbs up.
"Glad to see you," Daichi responded to the first year known as Kageyama.
"He's pretty darned tall."
"First impressions are key, Suga-san! Blast him with your upperclassman prestige!" Tanaka went back to making faces even as Daichi rolled his eyes.
"Tanaka, stop making faces. You're even making Crow annoyed."
"Oh come on!"
"Tanaka shut up."
"Just give up on your nap!"
"Not a chance in hell."
"Hello!"
