"Shad!" Aphmau's voice screams out.

Upon hearing her scream, Garroth, Katelyn and Zoey immediately run to her. I follow closely behind. We're all worried about our Lady and Lord.

"Shad! Shad? Where did he go? Did he escape the barrier?" Aphmau asks, getting louder as we approach.

"Aphmau!" Katelyn calls, drawing her sword.

"Lady Aphmau!" Garroth says, already having his sword drawn.

"What happened?" Zoey asks.

I stare at Aphmau, awaiting an answer, not bothering to draw a weapon as none would work against the Heart and I trust the others' are capable if it was another situation... Besides, I don't have any real weapons on me.

"Shad, he just vanished..." Aphmau explains.

"What?! He escaped?!" Garroth yells.

"No... He just... Vanished," She re-explains.

"He did not escape the barrier. He really did just vanish."

"I'm so confused. Was that Shad or not?" Katelyn questions.

"I think it was a fragment of a memory. I'm not sure." Aphmau states.

"What did it say to you?" Katelyn asks.

"It was angry at me... And berated me for still standing with Anna after what she did," Aphmau says, looking at me as if to ask if I knew what she meant.

I avoid looking at Aphmau, semi ashamed of what Menphia's done... Without even knowing what she did.

"So it was just a memory of Shad. Did it die? Where is the Heart of Darkness?" Garroth i.

"I'm not sure. He was the physical Heart of Darkness," Zoey explains, "It's possible he just gave up on existing."

"Can it do that?" Katelyn asks.

"I can no longer sense its presence... Anywhere." I mutter.

"How far can you sense auras?" Katelyn says, looking at me concerned.

"It varies. Depending on the power from the aura... But considering I sensed its aura from O'Khasis when it was in Phoenix Drop all those years ago..."

"What?" Garroth questions.

"Shad has a large presence in the world. Same as Irene... And the relics."

"Does that mean you can sense relics?" Zoey inquires.

"I-..."

"Wait. Alina!" Aphmau yells, running to head to her baby girl.

I sprint after Aphmau, glad she cut me off.

Closely followed behind Aphmau and I are the others as we make our way to the girl's temporary accommodations.

I can hear the girls giggling, but that doesn't stop Aphmau from barging in.

"Sir Liochant?" Aphmau calls.

He hastily stands, intimidated by Aphmau's abruptness.

"Neh! I wasn't asleep or anything!"

"That sounds suspicious," Garroth mutters. I nudge his shoulder, very harshly.

His head snaps in my direction and I glare at him.

"Liochant, are the girls okay? Has anything weird happened?" Aphmau asks.

"No, they're fine. They've perfect little angels," Liochant explains.

"Tsk. I doubt that." I snicker, acknowledging these three are a big handful. Noticing that they're fine, I walk over and kneel, before sitting on the floor with the girls, smiling. Erin runs over and climbs into my lap, hugging me. "Hi, momma."
