"It's about Liochant. You aren't the slightest bit concerned about him being a member of the Dragon Ward?" Garroth asks.
"Why would I be?" Katelyn questions. "Because he's from Tu'La?"
"Exactly! I'm still uneasy about him. Why the sudden appearance? And the way he acts... It just bothers me. He's so close to Lady Aphmau these days. I feel that that in itself is dangerous. Not only for her but for Alina too." Garroth explains.
"Garroth, do you know why the Dragon Ward exists?" Katelyn asks.
"Of course! It's an elite unit of chosen guards. Not unlike The Jury Of Nine." Garroth states.
"Don't you EVER compare the Dragon Ward to The Jury Of Nine! It will NEVER be that!" Katelyn yells.
"How can you be sure? What if this turns out exactly like the jury?" Garroth questions.
"You truly know nothing about the Jury..." I mutter, reliving some of the horrid memories.
"I assure you the Dragon Ward will NEVER be The Jury Of Nine! Every one of them has a pure heart and I trust them with my life!" She explains, looking at Garroth before turning her attention to me, "Katelyn the Fire Fist, Azura the Valor Hand, Gale the Iron Soul, Lowell the Umbrell Claw, Liochant the Devout Blade, each one of them is a warrior worthy of their title."
"Katelyn, my apologies. I did not mean to offend you." Garroth apologies.
Katelyn sighs, "None taken. I get where your lack of faith in Liochant comes from, Garroth. I remember what Tu'La did to O'Khasis."
"Katelyn, let's just drop it. As long as you say you trust him then, I can learn to as well." Garroth replies.
"Uh... I'll try... We all know I have trust issues." I state, awkwardly smiling.
"Right... Uh, thank you, Garroth. Now, do you two want to help me train a few cadets in the Guard Academy today?"
Garroth chuckles, "Shouldn't the headmaster let the teachers do that?"
"Hey! I like to spar with the junior guards every now and then, keeps them in line and respectful."
I smile, "Well, that's one way to keep order... Better than what we had to go through... Nonetheless, I'd love to spar with them... I just hope I don't hurt any... Specifically my godchildren..."
"What? Scared of what Dante would do to you?" Garroth chuckles.
"Haha! No. Nicole and KC..." I reply.
He laughs for a moment before realising I'm being serious, "Ohh..." He stops laughing, leaving an awkward silence.
Luckily, not too much later, the silence is interrupted by an intruding guard who doesn't know how to knock. "Lady Katelyn!"
"I'm pretty sure I've told everyone how I feel about people barging in suddenly," Katelyn replies, annoyed.
I snicker. She glares at me before turning back to the guard.
"I'm sorry, but Lady Azura has arrived." The guard explains.
Katelyn's demeanour changes from angry to formal, "Send her in."
The guard leaves.
"Azura?" Garroth questions.
"Yes. I need someone to take my place here to run the academy." Katelyn explains.
"Why?" Garroth asks.
"Someone has to take over if I'm going to be coming with you two and Aphmau for a while." Katelyn states.
