When the doctor is finished, he allows us to go and see Travis. Katelyn is the first to go. Aphmau stays behind to speak with the doctor for a moment, but follows quickly behind.
I wait until both are gone, to speak with him. "Excuse me, Doctor?"
"Yes?" He turns around confused, not expecting to see me.
I say nothing. I simply show him the state of my hands.
"My dear Enki, how did this happen?" He asks, starring. He walks over and holds the underside of my hands and begins inspecting them.
"Um... Fire?" I respond with a shaky voice, not wanting to say exactly what happened.
"I can see that. But how?"
"I used fire on my blade to cauterize his wounds... And his body's demonic nature matched the temperature." I lie, trying to cover up my magical abilities, as this place isn't too fond of magicks.
"I see. Hmm... I might have some cream..."
"No thank you. Just bandages please." I smile.
"Are you sure? The cream would help it heal quicker." The Doctor questions.
"I have no need for the cream. I have... My own, on our ship."
"And no bandages?"
"We've run out." I explain.
"I understand. Typically, I charge 1 gold per roll... But considering I don't want you to move your hands... You can just have 2 for free." He smiles. He grabs the bandages, holds my hands delicately and begins wrapping them.
"Please wrap them discretely." I ask, not wanting Aphmau to learn about the burns.
"May I just say. In my professional opinion, you seem way to careless about your own life." The doctor explains, "It going to get you killed on day."
"I will do anything to protect my lord. As many good guards would."
"Hm... I guess I'd do the same for my patients." The Doctor smiles, understanding that sacrifice that comes with the job.
I ponder whether or not this is the right call or not, before asking, "Can you take a look at something for me...?"
"What is it?"
"My back. I... Don't know how to explain it, but... The same thing that caused Travis' injuries hit me too... But, I don't feel any pain, I only felt the feeling of pressure when it came in contact with me." I explain, turning around, carefully lifting my shirt, to keep my hands safe.
"Hm... Interesting."
"What? What is it?"
"Nothing. It seems as though you weren't attacked at all. You're back is completely fine."
"Hmm... Are you sure there's nothing?"
"Yes. You're back is completely fine. No broken bones, no bruises, nothing." He explains, feeling around my back.
"I see. Never mind then. Thank you for the bandages."
"No problem. Make sure you're friend gets lots of rest."

I meet Aphmau and Katelyn upstairs, holding my hands behind my back. I look at Travis's stiff and motionless body and close my eyes. Please pull through Travis. I can't lose anyone else... Especially not you. We need you...
I sigh, quietly, before opening my eyes and leaning against the wall. Katelyn and Aphmau are talking, about what to do. I don't want to interrupt. They both know I'm here. When I walked up the stairs, Aphmau looked and smiled sympathetically at me.
