It's my night to watch the boat. We're supposed to take turns in order to stay alert for Aphmau's sake, but I usually volunteer to take care of the boat most nights.

I climbed the stairs and stood at the helm, unable to see much of the actual boat itself from the lack of light, so I stare up into the night sky. It's beautiful, especially when we're far away from other people.

It's been about a few days since Garroth, and I argued. I haven't even been able to look at him, let alone speak with him. I desperately want to speak with him. We've gotten so close over the years, being the only other confidant the other has, other than Aphmau.

Garroth stands along the edge of the ship, overlooking the sea and thinking out loud. "I still think that was a bad idea."

"What was a bad idea?" A soft voice asks from behind. Katelyn.

"Ah, Lady Katelyn." He smiles. "I'm sorry, I thought I was alone."

"Hm. Well, you think a lot of things, don't you?"

"I beg your pardon?" Garroth questions.

"Never mind. What's been on your mind, Garroth?"

"The question is, what isn't on my mind these days?"

"I hear that." Katelyn replies.

"I'm just really concerned about everything. I just... Don't think there's a safe place for Aphmau, Alina or even Lilith in this world... Or for Erin." He explains, glancing towards me for a second.

"Especially Alina." Katelyn says.

"She's becoming a danger to herself now. I just don't know what to do."

"In times like these Garroth, it's best to rely on your friends and allies," Katelyn states.

"I know but... It's hard."

"I understand. Trust me. When I made the Dragon Ward, I had the hardest time picking those I could trust, but I had to because if we have no one to trust in this world, what do we have?" Katelyn asks, looking up at me as if to ask me once again.

"Katelyn, truth be told, I question those who you chose for the Dragon Ward." Garroth mentions.

"Truth be told, that's exactly what I wanted to talk with you about."

"I see."

"Garroth, I know you don't trust Liochant. It's as clear as day."

"I have good reason not to trust him." Garroth replies, showing his anger once again.

"I get it, Garroth, he's from Tu'La. And I know what Tu'La did to O'Khasis. To your father... But still."

"You have no idea how it feels to know your own mother and father we in danger and you were completely helpless to do anything about it." Garroth yells.

"Garroth, I understand."

"You keep saying that, Katelyn... But I don't think you truly do." Garroth states, "When we first met you in Phoenix Drop, you were loyal to Zane."

"Don't you DARE bring this up." Katelyn demands, starting to get aggressive.

"Look, I-"

"You know VERY WELL why I was loyal to Zane. It was to protect the family I HAD." Katelyn explains. "At least you know where your family is."

"I don't know where my father is! That's the point Katelyn! They took him to Tu'La! And we haven't seen him since."

"Then why don't you go an try find him like the heir you are?!" Katelyn asks, finally snapping.
