Chapter Fifty-Seven

My phone rang which made me jump out of my thoughts. I pulled it out and saw Lando's name on the screen.
"Alex? Where are you?" Lando sounded frantic which confused me, until I looked at the clock and realised it was 7:15pm
"I'm just with Hannah, why?"
"We have dinner at 8pm, we haven't seen you since we left the track, Daniels worried sick and you haven't been answering your phone"
"Oh sorry, I'll be there in a minute" I didn't mean to make them worry, I wasn't checking the time. I was making sure Hannah was okay.
"Are you okay? You don't sound okay?"
"I'm fine, i'll see you soon"

I clicked the end button and put my phone back in my pocket. I looked down at Hannah who was laying in my lap.
"I'll stay with you" I said
"No no. I'm gonna speak to Liam. Plus you have to go, the race is tomorrow"
"Hannah.."
"It's fine, I need to speak to Liam" she said, she sat up and I pushed her hair away from her face.
"I'm here, 100%. Text me, ring me, if you need me I'm right here"

We stood up and I hugged her before leaving. The word I saw replaying in my head constantly. The only thing making me anxious and worried was what Liam would say or do. That's all I kept thinking about as I walked the hallway to my room. I walked in to find both Daniel and Lando in there.
"Where have you been?" Daniel yelled, I barely heard him. I walked right past, grabbed clothes for dinner and went into the bathroom. I got changed quickly and walked back out. Daniel was staring at me
"Where have you been?"
"It doesn't matter"
"Alex, there's pictures of you in a pharmacy" I snapped my head up looking at Lando
"What?"
"You bought tests, pregnancy tests"
"Sorry would you like a more up to date tracker on me so you two can know every move I make" my head was scrambled and I didn't mean to snap but I was being quizzed
"I thought there was something you weren't saying" Daniel said
"Like what?"
"Well you were seen buying pregnancy tests, then you disappeared for hours"
"Right?"
"I was worried something was wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong with me"
"You bought tests Alex, who were they for then"
"It's not your concern"
"Well it is if it affects me"
"Affects you?" I started getting so heated. The way he said affects me.
"Yes. I need to be 110% focused, I can't be dealing with that right now" it's a bloody good job kids aren't on the cards for me. Bloody hell.
"Well you don't have to worry! As I've already said! You wouldn't even know if it weren't for all these bloody cameras following me around!"
"That's not my fault"
"It is your fault!!"
"What?"
"You. They follow me because of you!" I yelled. I realised Lando was still standing in the room and looking between us
"Alex" I snapped my head to him and saw his face, I then saw Daniels. Why was I so irate about a scenario that wasn't even mine.
"I'm sorry, that's not what I meant"
"Then what did you mean?" He snapped. What could I even do to explain this without being more shady.
"Sit down" I said to both of them. Lando sat down on my bed next to Daniel. "This goes absolutely no where. And I mean no where" Daniel huffed and I gave him a look before he nodded along with Lando
"It's Hannah. She's pregnant. I got the tests for her and I've been with her this whole time" I said. I knew I could trust them but I still felt guilty for telling them when hannah didn't know.
"Oh" Daniel said

We didn't go for dinner in the end. We all sat in my room and ordered some dinner. It was probably a good idea considering it was past our dinner reservation and I had been so horrible to them both shouting and arguing. I leaned my head on Daniels shoulder. Lando had fallen asleep
"Go to bed. I'll wake up him" Daniel whispered
"Let him sleep"
"I'll get him a blanket at least" I smiled, I went into my room and changed into an oversized T shirt and crawled into bed. Daniel followed soon after. I rolled onto my side facing away from him. Feeling guilty. I hadn't heard from Hannah but if she was with Liam, that was her priority. Daniel snaked his arms around my waist and pulled me against him and kissed me shoulder
"Don't do that" he said, I looked behind me, "don't turn away from me"
"I don't know what to do, I argued with you"
"We're past that. We're going to have heated discussions, you're stubborn and unfiltered"
"And you're arrogant and hotheaded" I replied
"Only the in the car"
"What did you mean when you said about affecting you?"
"You want me to be brutally honest?" He said mumbling into my ear
"Yes"
"Anything like that, kids, family, marriage. I don't want that, not right now. I need to focus on the car, on my career. I don't know how long I could have left. I'm 32, I need to keep at it. I don't want distractions, I want us for a bit longer. You're the only distraction I can manage" I nodded. I understood what he meant and he was right, but I can't lie and say it didn't sting a little. I don't know why
"But I want that with you. When I've done what I need to do, this has been my whole life, everything my parents sacrificed and scrapped together, everything I've worked for over my life. But when it's done, all I want to is to sweep you away and do what we want to do, when we want to do it. I want to marry you and give you everything I have, when it's right. That will be the rest of our lives" the sting disappeared and I was left with happiness and butterflies. He kissed my shoulder and his hand had moved down my thigh, rubbing circles with his thumb
"I love you"
"I love you" I snuggled back into him and he groaned in my ear
"I want you" he whispered
"Then have me"
"Be quiet, let's not wake up my teammate" he growled in my ear. His hands went to the back of my leg, stroking up. He pushed my top leg forward and his hand found itself between my legs, I moaned as my back arched, my bum pushing right into his lap. His other hand came up and over my mouth. Before I knew it I felt him sliding into me, my moans were muffled by his hand. His other hand holding onto my hip to keep me in place while he thrusted into me, my head leaned back into his shoulder as he continued his work, I could hear his groans in my ear as he finished.
"Quick?" I muttered as he pulled out
"Ey, I've got a race tomorrow" he laughed. I turned and kissed him
"Get some sleep then" I stayed where I was and his arms found their way back around my waist and he pulled me in closer.
