I had sent Sophie and Ben for a little break, I knew Daniel and Lando were in the garage doing some bits in there, I had shown the two newbies around the building to all the bits they would need to go to. I ran through the schedule and some other bits and pieces they would need to know, they were like sponges, absorbing all information. I sat on the sofa in my room, my laptop in front of me, my head rested in my hands, I was feeling worse and worse. There was a knock on my door and I sat up quickly but it was too late.
"What's wrong?" Daniel asked quickly rushing over to me
"Nothing I'm fine" I said
"Alex"
"Dan, I said I'm fine" I said more sterner, trying not wince at the pain in my head "can you get Lando please and come back here?" I asked
"Ale-"
"Dan" I cut him off. He sighed and nodded, before leaving again. I left the office myself and went to find Ben and Paige ready for the official meeting.

"Guys this is Ben, and this is Sophie. Sophie you'll be press officer for Daniel, Ben you're looking after Lando" I said as picked my laptop up and put it back on my desk, the four other people in the room all sat down around the table, Daniel and Lando on the sofa.
They all chatted away, a little awkward from poor Ben, Sophie seemed okay, she had done a lot of this before, but all good for the most part which was great to see, I could already see they were the perfect choices.

It was a shorter day today, so I was glad when Daniel came knocking so we could leave. I put away my things and he took my bag from me before we left. Sophie and Ben had already gone, they only needed to have their introduction done and sign paperwork and get all their things. The hard work started in Spain, which wasn't long away. Daniel put my stuff in the car and got in after opening my door for me, I rested my head against the window.
"Alex" Daniel said, as if waiting for me to cut him off again
"No I'm not okay" I sighed, admitting defeat. Now that work was done, and the next couple of days we had off I could let go
"I knew it" he mumbled
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to get through today and do what needed to be done"
"Get through today. Alex if you're not well that's not okay. What's wrong?" He asked
"I feel sick, I haven't eaten, I feel exhausted, my head feels like it's going to explode and my body feels like it's going to give way at any moment" I whispered, his hand came across to feel my forehead
"Bloody hell Alex you're boiling" he said "you have to see a doctor"
"Absolutely not" I said lifting my head up "I just need to sleep" I said to him. I refused completely there was no way, I mean we had team doctors and they were friendly and we didn't have to wait for them like usual public hospitals or surgeries, but I still didn't like them. It scared me, anything medical scared me and I was never ever ever sick.
"Yes, come on" he got back out the car and came round and opened my door
"Dan I'm fine I swea-"
"Alex I will carry you back in there myself if I have to. Get out the car" he said. He was stern, but I could tell by his eyes it wasn't anger, it was just worry. I unbuckled my seat belt and stepped out, my shaky hand took Daniels and he put his arm around me.

"Alex you've got a tonsillitis, but your temperature is ridiculously high, you shouldn't have worked today at all" the team doctor said after checking out all my symptoms and taking my temperature, it was high. Too high. Worryingly high according to him.
"See. I told you something was wrong" Daniel remarked, although his arm came round me as I sat on the doctors bed.
"You're overworked and tired. I want you to go home and get into bed, you've got to take these antibiotics for seven days, drink plenty of fluids and rest"
"Can I work?" I asked him
"No. Not at all. You're off for two days, that will be sufficient time to rest and allow these tablets to work. If you're not better and your temperature is still high then you won't be working until you're okay" he said. I sighed, glanced at Daniel and then nodded.
"We fly to Spain in two days" I said
"And as I said, if you're not better then you're not working. So you won't be going" he said
"But"
"No Alex. Just rest. A high temperature is serious, as in an if you've got a bad infection, if you don't help your body you could get worse" he said. Again I admitted defeat and nodded while looking down. The car journey home was silent, as soon as we got inside Daniel ordered me upstairs, he ran me a bath before putting me into bed.
"I'm going to get you something to eat so you can take your tablets and make you some tea, I've got Michael coming for a workout so I'll be right downstairs in the gym, then we'll have some dinner, and then we're going to watch movies in bed okay?" Daniel said
"I'll be fine" I sighed
"Yes you will, but you'll do as you're told in the meantime" he said kissing my forehead and pulling the blankets up over me and tucking me in. The doorbell rang and Daniel disappeared.
A little while later he reappeared with a cup of tea, which he makes the best of, ever, a sandwich and my antibiotics and some paracetamol to help. I ate quickly, and then settled down and got comfy, I was out like a light.

"Lex? Are you hungry?" I woke up to Daniel whispering, his beard was tickling my face
"No"
"You need to eat bub, you need to take your next tablets, and you need to drink some water" He spoke softly, if I wasn't so rough I'd appreciate all the lovey dovey stuff, and all the nicknames. I just groaned in response "Michael made dinner" he whispered "come on" I groaned again but rubbed my eyes and sat up, the tiredness hit me like a bus. Daniel helped me out of bed and adjusted my jumper. I fixed my hair and walked downstairs behind him, he had his arm round me the whole time and to be honest I was glad because I didn't have the energy to hold myself up. I didn't want to get out of bed but he was right. When I walked into the kitchen, Michael was sitting at the dining table.
"How you feeling Alex?" Michael asked
"Rough" I sighed as I sat down
"I've made some dinner, lots of healthy stuff to help you get better" he said
"Thank you" I smiled, Michael was often round here, it was easier to use the gym in the house when he didn't have plans for a hike, run or anything else. He also loved hanging round here and I didn't mind, it kept Daniel happy and if I was working he felt lonely so Michael preoccupied him. Right now I was very grateful for Michael, the food looked delicious, but I couldn't smell it or taste it and I had to eat such small bites because of my throat so it took me forever, both Daniel and Michael waited until I finished, chatting away together quietly. Daniel got up and brought over my tablets again and another drink
"I've never seen him this nice and generous" Michael chuckled. I smiled weakly
"Let's get you back to bed yeah?" Daniel asked. I nodded
"Thank you Michael for dinner, I'm sorry I'm not fun"
"You're welcome, don't worry. Get some rest" he smiled and got up and gave me a hug before Daniel took me to bed. I felt weak, I was glad to see my pillows and blanket again.
"Let me go and clear up and say goodbye to Michael and I'll be back okay" Daniel said, I nodded and he kissed my forehead before leaving the room again.
