After a blur of celebrations, including heading back to the MTC for a wrap up of the season, we had a team dinner with every member of the team, which was crazy to say the least, we spent a little while in England, before heading to Australia for Christmas. It was becoming a yearly thing and I loved it. I couldn't believe it was two years ago I met this man, and now his home was my home, we had gone through so many things together, celebrated all his victories and I couldn't be prouder of the man I stood next to. I was heading into my fourth year in formula one, Daniel was heading into his third with McLaren, unsure of what the season would bring him and with his contract due to expire who knows what could happen, but I had every belief and faith it would be okay, I mean McLaren would be mad not to re-sign him for a further contract, if he wanted it that was, not when he brought all those wins and now a championship title with a second place victory for the team, Lando was already safe, but even if he wasn't I'm sure they would've re-signed him to with the podiums he's accumulated and his first race win this year. There was so much going for these two, and I would honestly miss working so closely with both of them, but I would be watching from another garage making sure.
This year, Daniel and I hosted Christmas, rather than his mum. We did a second little friends Christmas the day after Boxing Day before we headed to Monaco for the new year. It was a beautiful Christmas, once again surrounded by the most amazing people. Grace and I had a heart to heart outside in the garden while the festivities continued inside, resulting in us both crying. I cried because I missed my parents and what it could of been like with everything now, how much they would of loved Daniel, I truly let it out and she was honestly the best person, she comforted me, and reassured me that I had a new family that always be by my side, and that Daniel was completely in love with me and I would never be alone, she also made sure I was aware of how important I was to them all, including Michael and Blake who were now like new found friends. It certainly made me feel better. I had so many people around me now, but I also wasn't stupid to know that there would always be a small hole that could never be filled properly, no matter how hard I tried or how hard anyone else tried.
"Auntie Alex!" I smiled and picked the little girl up
"Hey angel, you okay?" I asked Isabella
"Mikey said to tell you we want a baby cousin" Isabella said. I looked up at Michael and scowled at him, I ignored the question and played with the two little kids and their new toys. Daniel and I had looked after them for the evening and had them overnight, we'd already had the most amazing Christmas and it gave their mum and dad time to themselves, apart from the kids.
Daniel and I had Michael, Scott, Chloe and Blake round. We were heading back to Monaco tonight, which saddened me a little, Blake had been busy with so many things while we had been in Australia, Daniel was the champion and everyone wanted to see him, speak to him, and interview him, so Daniel and Blake had been working here and there. It was just Daniel and I that were going to Monaco tonight, which I found odd but let it slide, I suppose Blake and Michael didn't need to go everywhere with Daniel, and it gave us time to ourselves.
"Stop the children chit chat" Chloe scolded the boys, Daniel was just as guilty, snickering in the background
"It was only a joke"
"That's fine but don't bring the kids into it, and if she wanted a child, it's her business not yours" Chloe said
"Yes mum" Blake laughed, the group of us had grown extremely close, whenever we were home. Daniel and I were always with them, and often they visited us in Monaco to. Whenever they were at the race track they were in the Aston Martin garage, supporting Chloe's brother. Scott and Dan worked together on a few different projects now, including the new clothing line Daniel had. The greatest gift of being Daniels girlfriend was the free clothes I got, whenever he had a line I picked my favourite things and I would end up with them, currently sitting in my Enchanté Chalet hoodie. Yes Australia was very hot, but for some reason I was very cold at this precise moment.
