Chapter Thirty-Four

Daniel

I woke up to banging and clinking. I looked at my phone and it was 4:45am. I looked next to me in the bed and Alex wasn't there.
"Alex?" I called out
"Sssshh it's okay, go back to sleep" she replied from the kitchen. Wow, her words were so slurred and she was practically shouting. I got out of bed and went to see her
"Oh dear, you're drunk" she really was
"Nope" she said, or tried to say. She was all over the place it was hilarious.
"Come on let's get you to bed"
"I want some water"
"I'll get you some water when I've put you to bed" I told her, she took a step forward and almost fell over. Absolutely not. I picked her up and carried her to the bed. I helped her her undressed and laid her down. I went to go get her water and then came back and put it down.
"Daniel, I'm so in love with you, you're the sexist man in the whole world" she slurred her words so much, I laughed at her
"Come on, sleep"
"Have sex with me" She said, absolutely not in this state, I would never take advantage of someone like that
"I think you're too drunk for that, sleep" she huffed and looked sad.
"Come on I'll give you a cuddle" I told her, she settled down and I put my arms around her and within seconds she was out like a light. I laughed to myself and went to sleep.

At 9am my alarm went off, I quickly silenced it so I didn't wake Alex. I got out of bed and went to make a protein shake, as I had a workout with Michael soon. I was singing away to myself when I saw Alex run into the bathroom. I went running in after her and she was being sick. I held her hair and rubbed her back
"Please don't, don't see me being sick" she said
"Don't be silly, are you okay?" She shook her head and I laughed
"Don't laugh at m-" she was cut off by being sick again
"Let me go get you some water" I said. I went and got some and come back in and she was sitting on the toilet brushing her teeth. I looked at her and she looked pale
"Hanging?" I said handing her the water, she looked up and glared at me. I put my hands up defensively.
"Come on, back to bed" I pulled her up and walked her back and tucked her in, she pulled her sunglasses off of the table and put them on. She laid so still on her back as if not to make herself sick again, "go back to sleep, I'm going training with Michael. I'll wake you when I'm back" she gave me a thumbs up.

I left the room and went down the hall to Michael's and knocked on his door. He come out and we headed down to the gym.
"Hey let's go get it" Michael said, we walked down the hallway, "did Alex have fun last night?"
"Mate she is hanging, she was out until nearly 5am, she came in absolutely steaming and she's been sick this morning" I told Michael as we got in the lift
"She partied hard" Michael laughed. "A bit like you" We got into the gym and started our training session.

Alex

I woke up and saw Daniel sitting next to me stroking my hair. I groaned and reached for my sunglasses again.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like death warmed up"
"We've got work to do soon, so you think you'll be okay?" He asked me. I nodded, no matter how rough I felt I was going to make it out of this bed and get my job done. But I still felt sick and I wasn't entirely sure I wouldn't be sick
"Well at least you had fun" he said
"I'm not sure I could tell you, I don't remember much at all" he laughed and it hurt my ears
"Can you try not to be so happy and laugh less today"
"I'm gonna go get you some painkillers and some sugar"
"What's the time?"
"11" I groaned. I had to get up now. I had to be at the track by 12:30pm. I got up slowly and made my way to the shower.

By 12pm I was ready and dressed and walking down the hallway towards the lift. My sunglasses were a permanent fixture to my face today. I got in the lift and was followed by Lando, Jon, Michael and Daniel, they all looked at me and laughed
"Late night was it?" Lando asked putting his arm round my shoulders, I muttered out a "mhm" in response and remained quiet. I saw Hannah as we got out the lift and she looked the same as me
"I refuse to ever go out with you again" Hannah said looking at me
"Yeah like I'm the problem?" I said and she laughed, "shots anyone, who wants shots" I said imitating her.
"Did you know I text Liam?" She said
"Liam as in one of my mechanics Liam" Lando asked, I stared wide eyed at her
"What did you say?" She handed me her phone

Hey you sexy beast, let's go have a drink and see what happens ;)

"Oh no no no" I said handing her phone back. Daniel was looking over my shoulder
"Well that's one way to get a date" he said
"I mean you'll find out when you see him if we ever get into the car" Lando said. The guys laughed and we got into the cars and got to the track. When we got to the trailer I went and sat in my office, I wasn't sure if I was going to be sick and I still hadn't eaten anything but the thought off food made me want to die. There was a knock on my door and I took my head out of my hands and saw Daniel carrying a cup and something else. I waved and he come in and shut the door
"Here, How you feeling?" He asked, he placed the cup and the plate down in front of me down on the sofa in my room.
"Not my finest state" I said I groaned, the sight of food made me suddenly so hungry, I inhaled the food and started sipping the coffee and Daniel was chuckling.
"Better?" He asked, I nodded and opened my laptop.

The rest of the weekend flew by and it was a disappointing weekend for McLaren but we were now headed to Italy for the next race to go again. The flight was only a couple of hours so it wasn't gonna take too long before we were in Monza.
