Chapter 31

Alonzo's POV

December 2. Probably the happiest day of my life. No, let me scratch that. It is really the happiest day of my life. The day that the woman that I love agreed to become my girlfriend, to be my partner.

It's been a few days but I feel like I'm still on cloud 9. Nu'ng araw pala na 'yun, we're both tired nu'ng kinaumagahan kaya here's what happened....

Flashback

"Keep in touch!" Our friends waved at us before their cars drove away.

I sat on the driver's seat and Ellie sat next to mine. We're both buckled up and ready to go pero ako itong tinatamaan ng antok.

"Oh? That's what I'm saying earlier, hindi ka natulog. Palit na tayo." She told me.

"No, it's fine. Ako ang magd-drive sa atin pauwi." I said.

"Eh baka bigla kang antukin sa daan. Sige na."

"Okay ganito, I'll rest for a couple of minutes before we go para may energy ako. Okay ba?" Tanong ko sa kaniya. She just let out a deep sigh.

"Sige. Gigisingin nalang kita."

"Maybe just for half an hour then we'll leave." Sabi ko na tinanguan niya kaya yumuko ako sa manibela and I closed my eyes.

I woke up and realized that I've been sleeping for almost 2 hours already. I looked over at Ellie and saw that she's also in a deep slumber while her head is resting against the window.

Wow, I....I can't even begin to explain how I feel now that this woman in front of me is mine. She's such a precious, lovely human being.

I decided to not wake her up so I started driving and I let her sleep. I wanted to take a picture of her kaso baka magalit, tulog na tulog pa naman. Hay, just admire and remember this precious sleeping face of your girlfriend, Alonzo.

We made it home safely and mula nu'n, puro chat lang kami dahil hindi pa kami nagkikita. I seriously missed her. I missed hugging her tightly, kissing her cheek and just being together.

2 weeks from now, December 19, she'll be celebrating her birthday. I'm thinking of what I could do for her pero mag-iipon muna ako ng ideas.

I have a few errands to do today but it's still early in the morning so I'm still having my morning coffee and I'm eating these brownies that Ellie sent me yesterday. Siya daw ang gumawa. It tastes good.

While having my breakfast, I went to my social media account para magbasa ng balita today. Ano bang nangyayari ngayon?

Agad na bumungad ang article about James and Ellie. Hindi pa rin pala 'to nawawala. Ang dami pa ring naniniwala na James and Ellie are a thing. Some of them think that they're together already, some of them think na dating pa rin. Hindi ko nalang binabasa. Alam ko naman ang totoo eh. And besides, James and I are good friends, hindi nalang din daw niya pinapansin.

Kahit naman 'yung tungkol sa amin daw ni Trish, hindi pa rin nawawala 'yung issue na 'yun at hanggang ngayon, people think that you know...we're dating. Trish is always asked at interviews kung ano daw ang real score namin and she either dodges the question or don't answer at all.

Anyway, I think Ellie is still asleep. She's not yet responding to my message eh. Puyat kasi kagabi, hindi raw makatulog. Kausap ko hanggang hatinggabi.

Speaking of, biglang may lumitaw sa notification ko kaya I tapped it to check.
