Chapter Eighteen - Flying Cars

Y/n's Pov

     We're now at the train station, Uncle Lucius, Aunt Narcissa, Draco, and my father went ahead. I had to go back and get something so they were waiting for me on the other side of the wall. As I'm heading back to the wall I see Potter and Weasley run at it, but instead of going straight through like what would normally happen, they crash into it, I wince as they do. All their trunks go crashing out of their carts. Ray joins me at my side, I guess he had to get something as well.

     "What happened to them?" He asks me.

     "They crashed into the wall."

     "How?"

     "They ran at it."

     "No I mean like, aren't they supposed to go through it?" I look at the clock in realization.

     "BLOODY HELL, WE'RE LATE!"

     "Let me try running at it." Ray suggests, getting ready to run.

     "NO!" I yell, grabbing his collar. "If it really is blocked you're just going to run straight into it, and that's going to be painful." Potter and Weasley finally get all their stuff gathered up and join us.

     "So what do you suggest we do, oh wise one?" Weasley mocks.

     "We could send an owl?" I suggest.

     "No. It would never get there on time." Weasley quickly shuts my idea down.

     "WELL I DON'T KNOW, IT'S NOT LIKE YOU GUYS HAVE A FLYING CAR OR SOMETHING!"

     I regret saying that. They do indeed have a flying car. Potter and Weasley are seated at the front, with Weasley driving. Ray and I are in the back, I'm holding Lily in her cage on my lap so if something goes wrong she doesn't get injured.

     "Weasley, if we crash, it's all your fault." I say, wanting this resemblance of a nightmare to end. I hold Lily closer to my chest.

     "We're not going to crash." Weasley tells me.

     "Do you even know how to drive this thing?" We haven't even taken off and I'm already doubting them.

     "Do you?" Ray counters, making me shut up.

     "Do you guys know the direction that we have to go in?" I ask Weasley.

     "Would you just shut up?!" Ray snaps at me. I flinch, but luckily no one noticed... Or so I thought.

     "She has a point, how are we going to find the direction of the school?" Potter agrees with me.

     "We could follow the direction of the train, it should've just left." I tell them after checking my watch.

     "Alright then, off we go." Weasley says, starting the car and driving off, forgetting to turn it invisible.

     "Weasley you daft dimbo, the mudbloods aren't supposed to see the flying car!" I remind him.

     "Oh yeah, well, there's an invisibility button. It only works for a short amount of time though."

     "Well press it!" Ray shouts at him. Weasley quickly presses it.

     "I guess we just hope that no one saw it and that it lasts long enough until we're out of sight from muggles." Potter says.

Ray's Pov

     I can't believe this car actually works, and that L/n agreed to going in it. I kind of feel bad for snapping at her earlier, she did have a good point about having to find the direction. Why did she flinch when I snapped at her? I guess I can ask her.
