Ray's Pov

     I lay in bed thinking about earlier when I was with L/n. Why did I think that way about her? She's so rude to me all the time. She is kinda cute though...and pretty...and intelligent...and good at Quidditch. And she's...perfect... Agh! What am I thinking?! It is true though...no! Stop it Ray! Whatever...I should get some sleep. The longer I dwell on her the more I'll end up hating her, or not hating her.

Y/n's Pov

     The next day I'm walking to the library where I pass Granger and Antenna Emma. They're talking about Mrs. Norris and what could've happened to her. When I hear them talking I get a bad feeling in my gut so I follow them to the library. I sit in the aisle behind the one they were in so I could know what they were up to. They were talking about how Potter heard something and other information that they gathered from Potter.

     "I found it!" Antenna Emma whispers shouts, putting a book on the table and opening it. They then scan through the book for a while before Granger goes;

     "This is it! The basilisk!" Now this caught my attention, I had some books back at the mansion and I distinctly remember reading about basilisks which made my eyes widen. The Basilisk has venomous fangs and if you look directly into its eyes, you will die. If you look at it through the reflection of something, then you will only be petrified until you are given a cure. That's what I remember from the book. I can't let them get petrified! Sure they're a pain in the arse but it's going to be really annoying to deal with grieving people who are close to these two! Especially Norman, it's gonna be hard to deal with a grieving Snowflake.

     "Come on, let's go back to our dorms." Emma says as she stands up. When they walk out of the library I follow them without them noticing me. Just to make sure that they don't get petrified along the way. We arrive in the second hallway before their dorms then I hear it...the Basilisk. It sounds like it's going hiss hiss bitch, I'm gonna eat your toes! Not really, but if I could understand the hissing I bet that's what it would be saying. Before Granger could check her mirror I take it away from her. Surprising them both.

Ray's Pov

     When I'm heading to the library with Norman, I see Emma and Hermione walking down a hallway. Emma looks like she's crying and Hermione looks like she's trying to comfort her and she looks sad. Me and Norman walk over to them.

     "Hey guys, what's wrong?" Norman asks once we get to them. Emma starts hiccuping as she tries to explain so Hermione explains for her.

     "We were on our way back from the library, and we figured out what was petrifying everyone, it's the Basilisk. We heard hissing so I went to check my mirror to make sure it wasn't there when L/n took the mirror from me and..." Hermione looks upset. Norman's eyes widened in realization.

     "She got petrified, didn't she?" Norman whispers out with a shaky voice. Emma has started to calm down and she nods. L/n got petrified? I feel a pang in my chest at the thought of it.

     "Can we see her?" Norman questions.

     "No, Madam Pomfrey isn't letting visitors in at the moment." Emma replies. Norman nods his head and looks down sadly. Norman looks like he's about to cry, and honestly, I feel the same. I don't know why though, Norman wanting to cry is understandable since they're close friends, but me? We hate each other, why would I cry over her? ......Do I hate her? Agh! I don't even know anymore!

     After a while, Madam Pomfrey said that she's now allowing visitors. So, here we are, by L/n's bed. Malfoy then comes rushing in.

     "Where is she?! Where-! Y/n!!" Malfoy cries, rushing to her bed. Malfoy has tears running down his cheeks as he sees her. I've never seen Malfoy cry before...it's strange. He turns around and glares at Hermione and Emma.
