In this AU Y/n is in Gryffindor
I can't believe this. The Sorting Hat put me in Gryffindor, Gryffindor, of all houses! Oh gosh, what would mother say??? I struggle to keep a smile up as I head over to the Gryffindor table, as I sit down the girl who's name I heard earlier as Emma comes next to me.
"Hi! I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I'm Emma! Do you want to be friends?"I frown as I lightly slap her hand away.
"No, I don't want to be your friend. I will never be friends with a mudblood like you. So I would suggest doing yourself a favor and leave me alone." I growl as I ignore her for the rest of the sorting. She keeps poking my arm throughout the whole time, I try to ignore her but she keeps poking me.

When we get to the dorms I finally had enough and turn around to face her.
"What do you want?!" I growl at her. She just smiles at me and tilts her head.
"I want to be your friend! And I won't stop until I am!"
"This is the last time I'm gonna say this, I don't want to be your friend. So get out of my sight, it would benefit the both of us greatly." I say before going to bed.

Time skip

A week later I overhear Antenna Emma talking to her friends in the common room.
"Emma, why are you still trying to be friends with her?" Granger asks.
"Because I want to be friends!" Emma replies.
"You know she's never going to say yes, right? You should just give up." Weasley inputs.
"Yeah..." Potter agrees.
"I don't think she's that bad." The albino suggests.
"She definitely is terrible." Ray counters.
"She isn't!" Norman and Emma yell. Emma then sighs and speaks.
"I think that everyone deserves a friend, no matter how terrible they are! Sure, she has Malfoy but I don't think they get to spend that much time together in classes, you get my point!?" That made me freeze. She was going through all the insults I threw, just to become my friend when Malfoy wasn't there? I feel tears streaming down my face. I quickly run away before anyone can see.

Ray's Pov
I hear footsteps run away and I look around but there is no one there. I frown and look at Norman. He looks back at me and nods, signaling that he heard it as well. Was that L/n just now? Why did she run away? Did she hear what we were talking about? How much did she hear? Questions ran through my mind as I saw her run away from the corner of my eye.

Emma's Pov
It's now nighttime and I'm on my way down from my dorms to meet up with the others when I see someone curled up in a ball on the couch. I decided that the others could wait and I slowly approach the figure, so as to not scare them.
"Hello?" The figure either doesn't hear me or is ignoring me. I hear sniffles from the figure. They have a blanket draped over them and they are facing the fire.
"Hellooo??? Person?" I ask them again. They flinch and turn to me, finally revealing who it was. Y/n.
"Huh? Y/n, why are you crying?!" I question in a hushed tone. She looks away and wipes her cheeks.
"You're delusional." She tells me in a choked up voice. I climb over the back of the couch and sit down next to where she is lying. I take out my handkerchief and hold it out for her. She looks at it for a while before hesitantly taking it. I smile at her and reach out to rub her arm, she flinches away from me and glares. I put my hands up in surrender and let Y/n calm herself. After she calms herself down she looks at me.
"I'm sorry..." She whispers out.
"Why???"
"I heard what you said about everyone needing a friend, and you were right about Draco. Although he is still my friend, he almost never has time for me anymore, as I barely have enough time for him as well. And there you were, trying to be my friend so I wouldn't be alone. Ugh, what I'm trying to say is; I'm sorry and I hope it's not too late to be friends." She says, half flustered and half genuine. I grin widely at her and launch myself onto her in a hug.
"Yay! We're friends!" I cheer holding her to me. She makes a strangled sound as I hold her tight. She relaxes against me and I feel her body go slack and her breathing goes shallow. Is she asleep??? I look down at her, and yep, she is asleep. I gently carry her to the girls' dorms and tuck her in. She must be exhausted from crying. I then remember about the others and as gently and quietly as I can, I rush out of the dorms to the meet up spot, where Ray smacks me for taking so long.
"What took you so long?!"
