I awake to the sound of someone yelling at some people in the dorm. I groan and stuff my head under my pillow.

"Y/n! Get up you lazy fuck! We have Defense Against the Dark Arts first period!" Pansy's voice echoes through our dorm and I groan. I don't want to go to a class with that toad lady teaching. Even Lockhart would be better than her.

I get ready and basically ignore everyone, I didn't want to risk it. It's just too dangerous for him. I walk into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and take a seat next to Draco. The toad Umbridge talks for a bit before the door opens to reveal Potter.

"Sorry that I'm late, professor." He apologizes before sitting next to Weasley.

"Hm, five points from Gryffindor for being late." I snicker before she goes back to talking.

"As I was saying, Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. O-W-Ls. More commonly known as OWLs. Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so, and the consequences may be severe. Your previous instruction in this subject has been disturbingly uneven. But you'll be pleased to know, from now on... you will be following a carefully structured, Ministry-approved... course of defensive magic. Yes?" She answers as Granger raises her hand.

"There's nothing in here about using defensive spells?" She asks confusedly while flipping through the pages.

"Using spells? Well, I can't imagine why you would need to use spells in my classroom."

"We're not gonna use magic?" Granger voices what we're all thinking.

"You'll be learning about defensive spells in a secure, risk-free way."

"What use is that? If we're attacked, it won't be risk-free." I interject angrily.

"Students will raise their hands when they speak in my class." She glares at me and I scoff.

"It is the view of the Ministry that a theoretical knowledge will be sufficient to get you through your examinations which, after all, is what school is all about." As she goes on the rest of us just look at her in confusion at this crazy idea.

"And how's theory supposed to prepare us for what's out there?" Potter questions her.

"There is nothing out there, dear. Who do you imagine wants to attack children like yourself?"

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe Lord Voldemort." Potter and I say in usion, remembering the night in the graveyard. Everyone sucks in a breath at his name and the class falls silent. Now everyone is turned to look at Potter and I.

"Now, let me make this quite plain. You have been told that a certain dark wizard is at large once again. This is a lie."

"It's not a lie. I saw him." I remind her.

"I fought him!" Potter yells out at her.

"Detention, Mr. Potter and Ms. L/n." We both slump in our seats and glare at her menacingly.

"Cedric Diggory dropped dead of his own accord?" Potter raises an eyebrow at her.

"Cedric Diggory's death was a tragic accident."

"It was murder! Voldemort killed him!" I shout and slam my hands on my desk.

"Enough!" The class falls silent and all look at her. "See me later, Mr. Potter and Ms. L/n. My office."

It's lunchtime and I'm in the library instead of the Great Hall. I didn't want to be disturbed at all. Unfortunately, Norman found me.

"Hey Y/n, there you are. I've been searching everywhere for you!" He greets as he sits down beside me. I couldn't risk getting caught now, she might still be around.
