I was in the middle of doing my homework when my phone beeped. Sino naman kaya ang nagtext? Tinigil ko ang pagsusulat at kinuha ko ang cellphone ko. I saw a message from my mother.
From: Mom
Cera, may I remind you na may family dinner tayo mamaya with the Nolascos. You better be on time.
I didn't bother replying to her. So, finally, after ilang beses na pagpaplano nila na hindi naman matuloy-tuloy, matutuloy na mamaya. Then, I need to condition myself. I need my composure. I don't want to disrespect the Nolascos.
Pinagpatuloy ko ang ginagawa at pagkatapos ng ilang minuto ay dumating ang mga kaibigan ko.
"Magbar naman tayo mamaya! Just to celebrate that we are finally in 4th year college!" sabi ni Courtney.
"Nakakaisang lingo pa lang tayo sa school year pero sige, count me in," sabi naman ni Shanaira.
"Syempre sama rin ako! Ang tagal ko nang hindi nakakainom eh," Anica said.
"I can't," I said and continued writing notes.
"Bakit?" sabay-sabay na tanong nila.
"Sabado naman bukas," sabi ni Anica. "At mamayang gabi pa naman tayo magbabar."
"May family dinner kami mamaya," I answered. Tinignan ko sila at nagpout sila. God, what did you do to them?
I sighed. "Okay, fine. I'll try to catch up."
Ngumiti sila at pumalakpak.
"Hanggang madaling araw tayo! Tapos bar hopping!" masayang sabi ni Courtney.
