"Happy birthday, little sis!" my Kuya Jovanni said as he gave me his gift. He kissed my forehead and I hugged him.
"Thank you, Kuya! What is this?!" I beamed.
"You'll know later. Buksan mo after ng party mo, okay?"
"Okay!"
My 7th birthday party started. It was the happiest birthday I had but who would have thought that that is also the worst day of my life as I found my brother gone after that.
Hindi ko siya mahanap sa kwarto niya, sa bakuran, sa playground—wala siya sa kahit saan na tanaw ko.
Bigla na lang siyang nawala.
"Mom, where's kuya? Still not answering the phone?"
"I'm sorry, Jyzl. But we are doing our best. Hinahanap na namin si Kuya Jo, okay?"
