"There's my beautiful daughter," Dad said when he entered the room where I'm getting my makeup done.
"Dad," I smiled.
Umupo siya sa upuan sa tabi at hinawakan ang isang kamay ko. Dahan-dahan niya itong hinaplos. "My daughter is finally getting married today..."
"This is what you want, right?" I chuckled.
"Before. But now... I think I don't want you to get married this soon."
"Dad naman. I'm not getting any younger," tumawa ako. "I want to get married to him now."
"I know," he said. "Sinabi na namin ng Mom mo ang lahat noong namanhikan sila. Marriage is not easy, you two should always go hand in hand."
"Yes, Dad," I mumbled. "I love you, Dad."
Paglabas ni Dad ay pumasok naman si Mom. She's holding a tissue and I can see that her watery eyes. Para bang kakaiyak lang.
"Did you cry?" I chuckled. She sat down in the same chair where my father was seated.
"I'm really sorry for everything, Jyzl," she said. "Sa lahat ng kasalanan na ginawa ko sa'yo at sa kuya mo."
"Mom, it's okay, we're okay now. You apologized and we forgave you. You don't have to worry about it, Mom."
Forgiveness is not for everyone. That's what I know. May mga taong dapat pinapatawad at hindi dapat. Isa ang ina ko sa mga taong dapat patawarin ko. Kuya forgave her too, because after all, she is still our mother. We came from her and we are sharing the same blood. Kahit galit na galit ako sa kaniya dati, hindi ko naisip magsisi na naging ina ko siya.
