I was staring at the curtain when I heard the door open. Napatingin ako doon at nakita kong pumasok si Cera. Bumangon ako at umupo.
"Good morning," she said. "Let's go. Let's eat."
Tumango lang ako. Tumayo ako at sinundan siya palabas ng kwarto. We went to the dining area and started eating.
Tahimik lang kami habang nakain. Nang matapos ay hinugasan ni Cera ang mga plato at umupo naman ako sa sofa.
I opened my conversation with Ate Malia and read the messages again. I kept on reading the same messages until a tear fell on the screen.
"Lola..." I mumbled.
"Miel, are you okay?"
Madali kong pinunasan ang mata ko ganon na rin ang cellphone ko. "Y-Yes," I answered.
Umupo si Cera sa tabi ko kaya napatingin ako sa kaniya. "Akala ko aalis ka ngayon?" tanong ko.
"Cancelled," she answered.
"Bakit?"
"Kaya na raw ni Levi yon mag-isa."
